General What Am I doing wrong?

It's really easy.
You have a template.
Make a road map on paper as to what you want to do.
Create your separate pages.
Edit the easy stuff.
What your directory structure.
It is really that easy.

 

Look at the template you downloaded.
The index.html and the style.css are in the root directory, so if you look at the <link href
it is pointing to the root directory where the file is stored.
A server is just another pc sitting somewhere else. It uses the same style file structure.
Kinda of like having a pc and a laptop at home - one is fixed in some room and the other is in another room - but both use the same file structure.
Like MyDocuments or MyPictures.
You could have in MyPictures with 20 files in it and a sub-directory called Mygreatestpics and in that directory you could have 10 files.
Are you getting the idea?

do you have the directory name correct - upper/lower case

is it UPPERCASE Images or lowercase images

 

change the capital I to a lowercase i everywhere you referenced it in the html file and rename the directory to a lowercase images.
Try not to use Capital case. If you look in the css file you will not see a capital Images.
When programming you have to remember to be case aware.

is this some sort of free address from your ip
because if it is - your website will never be indexed or found by the search engines.

a ~ in the name normally means some free space your ip gives you.
Each host is different.

Not likely - I upload, download, add, delete all day long. A server is just another hard drive.
