    Awesome.

Thanks mon capitan. I've looked into it. Can only use FTP with webs if I pay to upgrade my account to "premium". What an arseburger.

Anyone know any good free hosting where you can use FTP then?

    Question

I have tried disabling my firewall and adding an exception to it as well. Can anyone help me figure out why Firezilla is telling me this and not connecting? I have the website through GoDaddy could that be the issue?

    Thanks!

I am trying to upload templates to use on weebly.com, but it says it must be
    • A zip file named [your theme name].zip
    • Template layout data in a file called index.html
    • Style information in a file called main_style.css
    • All image files associated with your theme
    • All files must be in the root directory of your zip archive. Any files in a subdirectory will not be imported.
Could anyone help me step by step with this process, as i have no idea as to how to do anything like this.

The templates i have downloaded and are ready to go are in zip file.
I have tried to upload them, but it comes up with the error: Zip archive missing index.html or main_style.css

Have no clue what is in your zip file, but if it was me I think I would follow the instructions you just posted.
No not really, I would Unzip the file on my pc to see whats in there.
Then I would get a new host. That one is insane, even if it is for free and don't tell me you pay them, cause then I'll think your nuts.
Here is the problem you can not figure out the above.
You don't know what is in the file.
If you have directories in the zip which hold different files, you would have to know how to edit those files in the html and css code. If you can not figure out a zip file or the error you are getting, you won't be able to edit code.
so either the files aren't there or they are in a sub-directory or the files are zipped up twice.
Unzip the files and look at what is there.
Two things will happen - You should be able to solve your problem or be able to supply more info if you can not.
Sorry - best we can do for the moment.

    This post is about uploading.
Your Host my have cpanel which should have a FTP program for uploading or you can use a stand alone program to up load it. Just remember that if any of the file names are the same as those on your website and you upload the template to the same directory as your present web - you will over write those files and have a real mess on your hands.

If you are going to ask how to edit your files please create a new post in the proper Forum.
    Thanks

Delete the index.html file, don't delete the index.htm file this is the main page.
Don't upload the .psd file to your host, delete the musiciansagency.psd file it's just using up space on your website. Go to your website it should work now.

OK, read through this entire thread and tried to upload to 50webs.com.
Tried Conner's suggestion from the first post in this thread.

Open the folder that the template files are in and do [Ctrl] + [A], make sure that the images folder is selected too!
Open your FTP program and login with user. and pass., etc... Now, click in the area where the uploaded files are supposed to appear and do [Ctrl] + [V].
All the files should appear, if not, repost here.
All the files did not appear, so here I am :) I also tried CTRL-C after CTRL-A (thinking that step was left out but apparently that doesn't matter)

I thought I would be able to simply upload the index file and image files to make it work, again, apparently incorrect.

50webs won't let me upload entire directories, have to do files one at a time, so thinking I may be missing some information. Do I need a better host?

Reading the post above I see that I don't need the .psd file which is fortunate as it is too big to upload in the free version (will be purchasing when bugs are worked out).

    Thank you!
    Mark

editted: Problem solved. Downloaded and used FileZilla. Took a little getting used to, but works great!
