General Free website template for database like Excel

    I would like to acquire a free website template in which I can create an Excel database. The database will be available to all legitimate users for editing and viewing. This is simple home use. It's a gift list, actually. Users can create or edit a record whenever they buy a gift against the list, and then of course other users can be prevented from duplicating. I have done some searching, but got kind of bogged down in the fancy commercial stuff, etc.

    What free website would be available that would have this capability?

    My recommendation would be to use google docs. You can make an excel file, give people permission to view, edit, or moderate it, and distribute the link as you would a website.
