Graphics I need a logo banner for my MMA site

    Hey I just started a MMA blog/site. Haven't put too much design into it yet (so if you visit it don't make fun of me yet haha) I'm looking to create a banner/logo for the top. Right now I just have some writing that says www.thatmmasite.com and it looks terrible haha. Right now I have a very light background, but it's not permanent. I'm looking to make a design almost based around the banner. I do want to keep the design light. Anybody who is interested I would be incredibly thankful. I'm not much of a graphic artist, but hopefully I can find a way to give back to this community somehow.




    1) What is your website address (ex: http://site.com ; Site Name)?

    2) Description of your website:

    Just a light basic design. Almost a 3 column design. Want to keep things basic and easy to read. Want a banner that will pop out the name of the site.

    3) List 3 logo designs you really like & why:

    My fav is mmaCanada, basic, yet effective

    4) Requested size of your logo:
    Banner size. I don't know exactly what the standard is. Similar to the size from mmacanada.net

    5) Do you have any images/photos that can be used for the logo? (must be copyright free)

    Sorry no images

    6) Any colors you prefer?

    Light colors, maybe some red, white, green seems to be a them on my site for some reason

    BrianH everyone here volunteers their help, so while you are waiting, why don't you see if you can answer a question/or add on to one or give a website review. Anything that might help out with the forum we would be grateful.

    Those 3 examples you listed don't quite match your statement
    "Light colors, maybe some red, white, green seems to be a them on my site for some reason" particularly "My fav is mmaCanada, basic, yet effective"

    Those 3 examples are heavy in color and your site is light - white, black lines and a splash of color.

    Here is what I got out of those examples.
    Sized to fit the forum here.
    The header on your site is 940px x 136px

    I agree with you, poor examples on my part. I'm thinking I need something a little lighter. Maybe incorporating the green I have going on, with a white/eggshell color as a background. Thanks for the effort Ishkey! I am so appreciative I am getting some help so easily here. This is a great forum.

    Give me a couple of minutes to see what I can do with the green thing and reducing the clutter I put in there. By the way thanks for the extra posts you placed on the forum. The reviews really help to give a different perspective to the website creator.

    Your style sheet lists the font color as - color: #53913d which when solid like the block shown doesn't match up so I used a gradient to fade it out and to blend into the page. I went with the grid and white font to soften it up the green. Left the multi colored arrows in cause I also like the mmaCanada logo, we just don't copy others work around here and the arrows help give a splash of color and something more to look at.
    What do you think?

    Looks sweet. I will apply it on the site when I get home from work today and see how it looks. Thanks for all the work you put into it man.

    well use the one in this zip file as it is the size of white_header_bg.jpg which came from your site.
    you may have to adjust your css file.
    glad you liked it.

    Hey so check out www.thatmmasite.com I have the banner up. I think the colors and the way it fades are fantastic! I really want to thank Ishkey for his help. If I could tweak anything I wonder if we can make the white grid like a chain link fence, and the arrows look a little out of place. I know they were directly taken from my examples haha. I wonder if there is anyway to put like a white shadow of a martial artist kicking in the air or something. Once again Ishkey had done more than I could ever ask for already. Thank you guys.
