I am just learning more about it and wonder??? Is it really worth it to pay for traffic coming to my site? We need more members and traffic. I have also heard its free, but when I search it for free I saw what looked like someone trying to make a buck off of someone like myself. That won't work! I wish to go straight to the source if the adsense will really help my freebie forum site or not. We have bargain sales and hope to make some sort of commission as well.

Anyones opinion, expertise will be of great help!

    Thank you!

In Google you can display ads and get paid per click or pay for your own ads. Be carefully paying for your own as you really have to know how to do this properly (word your ad). You decide how much to pay per ad 5cents 25 cents $2.00 then the ad runs and Google then by there magic reasses your ad and you could being paying $5.00 per ad. Delpeating your bank account. But as the old saying goes it takes money to make money.

    Hi sunnee,

About Google. There is what's called:

AdSense - You display ads on your website where when people click on those "Ads by Google" you earn a small commission. Do NOT click on them yourself to earn yourself a buck (not that I'm suggesting you would, but just mentioning the warning).

AdWords - You get your ad on someone else's website (so your ad displays in the Ads by Google) and/or you get your ad to show up in the Sponsored Search Results in the Google Search Engine. This is known as Pay Per Click (PPC). Generally speaking, it's the fastest way to get traffic to your site, but like iskey warned, you need to know how to do this properly - otherwise you'll be throwing money down the drain.

As an alternative, experiment with Yahoo Sponsered Search. It works like Google, still gets a decent amount of traffic, and costs a lot less per click.

Other ways to get traffic to your website - wow that's a big question with many answers.
