Graphics I need help to re-draw a jpg logo

    Just one question...
    Is it absolutely imperative that those logo colours remain the same?

    Your site's theme colours are mainly black, red, grey and white. The added yellow kinda sits well but the sky blue just looks odd. :confused:

    Will wait to hear from you before going any further.

    Hi CP...
    Since the club logo/badge (which is also used on posters & letter headings) is blue/yellow it is important that we use those colours. I take your point and agree that the options you have demonstrated might look better but since it is a 'committee' decision I have no choice but to stick with blue yellow. I can however change the backround fill colour on the homepage (but I am not sure I can change the red/black/grey left & top colours.

    I see you've been playing round with background colours on your site.
    Must admit, so have I. :D
    The colour below is #008A8A and seems to go with all plus it's easier on the eyes and a more calming and modern shade.

    I have also been playing with an attempt to draw a logo top bar. I have managed to get the title that you can see at the top of each page by drawing in photoimpact with a size of 875 x 73 pixels. It fits perfectly above the page body so if you are still drawing some examples for me to try then that is the right size (I had to try about six before I got the right size) the image is a jpg. I quite like the yellow as it hits you in the eye, if I use the colour you suggest I have to do too many font colour and other changes to existing work. Nice idea though if I was starting from scratch.

    Back again!
    Here's a logo using the yellow background, it should fit well over the existing logo and picture area.
    Also a name header, again with the yellow bg.
    Don't be put off with how they look here as the display re-size looks YUK!
    I'll send you the full hi-rez files if you're happy with this.

    Hi CP......
    The club name I have put across the top is a picture (jpg) file not a text box. The space is pre-formatted for a picture at 875 x 73 pixels, I can't vary or change it and there is only one. The yellow background goes behind the picture box so that if there is no image it just plain yellow. I like the badge image with wings which I could put in place of the existing badge but bigger than I have at the moment and I could remove some or all of the other pictures. Is it possible that you could replace the straight side bars with representations of the 'lightening' flashes similar to those inside the circle (but keeping the colours you have used)? I think I will stay with the darker lettering for the club title bar as I think it is more predominant.

    The club name header doesn't need to be transparent as it's already a 875 x 73 pixel jpg. But that's okay as g1izh is happy with his present header.
    How about a 4 pixel straight line behind the logo. It can represent a dipole! (just kidding)

    As an aside, my very first attempt at a usable logo design, many, many moons ago, was for the Sydney based 'Western Radio Club.' (now defunct) I was a member (socially) and most of the time it was a lot of fun. We still have an old Yaesu gathering dust down the shed somewhere, probably getting close to being an antique. :p

    Anyway, that's enough of the down memory lane stuff. Got a quite day tomorrow so I'll see what I can dig up for the back of your logo.

    CP........That last draw with the radio flashes is superb and will be perfect thanks. :):) Dig out the Yaesu and get it warmed up!!

    Hi again CP. I have grabbed the lo-res .png file off this forum to have a try out for how it looks onsite (I would still like the hi-res .psd file please).
    I think it loooks great in-situ. What do you think of the new look of the website in general terms against what it was like?
