Ok we mainly look after offices from basics like simple white walls (or whatever colours they may have) to more complex like reception areas various colours finishes.

Alot of the companies we do are inside quite modern, simplistic, we also do some older buildings and large homes but those are alot rarer, but something possibly we could expand into.

The designing part at the moment is minimal to non existant as these companies have thier own colour schemes that they stick to like Apple, Fujitsu etc.

The look was more for the type of people that are employed and i wanted that we are a young-ish (when i say young i dont mean graffiti or bordering on childrens themes) modern sleek professional service for these large clients, clean and crisp.

We are not a design company at the moment, we just deal with what ever these large companies ask for which is generally basic company colours for large headquarters.

Should have explained it better hehe.

Im actually enjoying scouring the net and ive also opened paint and word (which i never have done before lol really) for the last hour and trying for myself if i have time before i pack my pc away il link some, but i am enjoying doing it to be honest.

Now that's a good bit of info we can all work with while your overclocked pc is being repaired. Mean time I am going go back to the 2 websites I am working on, sometimes clients can be picky as am sure you know. Then there is mine which I can never seem to fine the time to complete, though it is getting there. Will see you in about a week.

    tldc_logo.jpg

Don't know what the design is in the top circle :p just a random design..I drew 4 different lines and put them in a circle and then copied it and reflected it and came out with that so thought might aswel :p the bottom one has your company initials on.

Hi again folks thank you so much, yes please take your time im not in a mad rush and i would like it to be perfect for me.

Thanks GG, yes i like those both, fonts are crisp and clean the background is nice also. out of the two i prefer the top one. lol where did you get that symbol from but it kinda works. Were heading in the right direction now i think hehe.

Ok dont laugh but this is what i came up with really fast on word lol. I havent had a chance to mess around with colours and reflections from word as ive just got in and now have to start packing my PC away.

Ive attached it at the bottom.

I managed to borrow a PC for 30 mins to type this.

    WOW, i love both those....

@CP thats nearly exactly how i invisioned it, nice modern colour, simple and effective. The leafs of paper you did behind i take it you thought about offices, professionalism etc? I was going to ask what you thought about a small hint of colour somewhere maybe your top design with straighter futuristic lines representing the world in an obscure way but with the union jack colours maybe lol

    THEN

Forest hits me with his design, i love it! the blue looks really nice against the silver, it stands out. I did think about the london connection also but thought it might be or look cheesy. Not the way you have done it i dont think its cheesy i love it. Could we maybe put a glossy red colour (union jack red maybe) or whatever colour you think would work? in the white lettering "The London Decorating Company ltd" ? Also The top background cream colour could go (although i love that aswell) as i was thinking what you did on the van it would look alot better with just the top silhouette against the silver of the van, would be cheaper as well lol

    I want both designs lol

Awesome job guys, i got to get off this PC now, i can follow it from my phone all week but its not the same as seeing it in its full glory.

many thanks again guys or gals :p

    Have a great week.

one last edit - do you folks think going with union jack colours is abit cheesy and over the top or not professional ?

    Thanks Peter

Union Jack....Whaaaay to cheesy, then the design would look way to busy (if you get my meaning) it would be to much info for anyone to get a good memory of it.

I will play with it some more, but just to give it a a contrast how about a RED border around London Decorating Company ltd.

Cream for background...yyyuuuccckkk!!! but again it's MPO.

As to costs I don't think there is going to be that much difference as would be digital to go onto van, but would keep as many part transparent so it would not matter what colour van you put it on.

I'm sure others would add ideas to it

From my phone so sorry if any typing errors. Yep i totally agree union jack is pure cheese! I just thought the white lettering needed something. You could be right with maybe a thin glossy red out line on the letters.

I don't want it as you said overpowering.

I meant about the background the top part (it looks cream at the moment to me lol) wasn't asking for cream. I was saying possibly to leave the top part transparent as you said so its whatever colour the van is. Remember this will be used one everything from van to clothes to letterheads and cards.

So yes your absolutely right about to much colour and to much going on, that's what I liked about CPs design nice colour maybe we could try a mix of the two lol

    Thank you!

I'm gone for half a day working on a couple of websites and when I come back - Wow those are fantastic guys and gal,
I had tikered with a different idea but not sure after reading the posts if I should even post it up.
Maybe the colors are more to your liking and Forest can use the idea.

Having bad storms here- connection a might spotty

Sigh I just typed loads and it don't send, lost it all. Stupid phone.

What are your guys opinions on possibly having something powerful and full on like forests design on the vans and something subtle and clean like CPs design on letterheads?

I'm trying to think like my clients, not my tastes and possibly forests is too full on for letterheads etc?

Maybe we could try toning down the colors all together, possibly use colours like CPs design? Or a silhouette of letters lol I'm ranting arnt I .

    Thoughts?

There are few things to consider IMPO

What is going to be your main source of advertising, if it is web then eye catching is needed
Never under estimate the power of free advertising e.g. Van graphics, let's be honest you want people to turn their heads when the van goes by, and make the image stick with them, remember-able?
your main clientele, who have you been used directly by (no sub-contacted) was it word of mouth etc etc.

The more of others idea's that are thrown at you the more confused you get (which seems to be the case) stick to what you want, as per your own design, the CP or Mr Ish are more or less on the mark

    Now I'm getting confused...ddduuuhhhh

It wasn't a symbol I drew 4 lines diagonally with different colours and then put it in a circle and then liked it so copied it and reflected it again and put it over and came out with that lol and looked quite good so thought i'd keep it.

And amazing work guys really love the designs! :D Shows the effort the designers take when people give back :)

    T
Your absolutely right. I should stick with my original idea of simple, modern, sleek designs with modern colours or just one colour?

At the moment most of my works is through management companies, so I guess at the moment apart from the work we do, It would be from the van, business cards, clothes, compliment slips we leave with the clients after the works are completed. The internet is new ground for me as far as having a website of my own. I also plan to get a Google ad at some point.

Sol I guess I need to try and think about these posh, upperclass, high powered clients (that they think they are, in a lot of cases lol) and what they would perceive as professional looking. In my mind that says to me " simplistic, toned down colours like what CP did and ishkeys possibly with brushed steel or glossy look with simplistic colours but modern also modern lettering" I could be totally wrong lol but by what I see inside these buildings and other trades on site, they look smart with simple designs with cool colours.

Here is a link to the company I deal with and get most of my work, some of the pictures of receptions I have done are there. Maybe that will help.

    Thanks all

If you were a under contract with us we would be rich.
Your last post is on the mark - you have the Talent to work it out and the graphics ability to produce anything. I'm sure whatever you decide will be right on the mark to bolster your budding enterpise to the top.

Hi folks, Ishkey I noticed you removed your design. I really hope I didn't offend in any way

You guys/gals have done some wonderful pieces, I really like them all but as Iskey said it has to be right for my clients and not my taste.

I really would love if you still work with me on designs etc as you can't beat a professional touch.

On a different note I am really enjoying messing about with designs. Is there any simple programs I can download for free or a decent simple software to buy? I can see myself with a new hobby lol

What are the rules on messing about with your designs? I don't want to offend anyone by messing about with someone's design.

@CP could we try a few things with yours if you have the time ofcourse - try it with a full gloss finish? Pages in a subtle modern colour? Just wanted to see how it would look?

@ishkey really liked what you did, could we try and see it with blander colours like CPs? again this is just to see what other effects have on wonderful designs.

I just noticed you folk are really spread all over the world, USA, Australia lol

    Cheers

No, I took no offense, you just don't seem to know where you want to be right now.
I posted several ideas and just have no taste or time for constant remakes.
I make a living using the computer for graphics and coding. At the moment I have several paying clients that require my time and who pay my bills. When the you decide in your mind which direction you are pursuing, I'm sure you will engage a service which will satisfy your request.
