General Ways of adding text information to a website?

hi, i have been out of the website development scene for quite
some time and trying to get back into it.

I am trying to design a simple website which has some products on it. Is there a simple way i can add and change the product information without having to do it in software like dreamweaver or notepad and uploading the file to the hosting site. Basically I want to make alterations for product information without having to use a software.

I was thinking of using a blogging software, but might complicated it further.

Or you could use a content management system such a joomla...which makes editing as simple as going to your website and making changes right there from your front page. CMS's are a great way to keep up a site without having to have a WYSIWYG editor.
