    The advantages of an editor for someone who knows HTML code.
    SPEED. When doing a lot of changes (editing or modifying) the advantages
    is speed.
    Also, the reason I use an HTML Editor - speed (I have over 260 pages to update and edit). Also the word "free" caught my attention

    MAJOR issue:
    Back up your site !!
    I use thumb (or flash) drives to back up my site
    Back up at least once a week. That way, if the worst happens, you will only be a week behind.
    Keep a running record of your analytics (weekly)
    That way you can compare the gains and losses
    Keep a running record of your adsense and affiliates accounts
    compare the traffic and conversions. Know which pages have the most conversions and traffic. Learn what you need to do to improve.
    Record the changes of the site and gains or losses. That way you should know what and how to improve.
    Time to get a little professional.
    Try to get reviews of a page at a time. That way you can optimize a page at a time. With as many pages as you have, it is difficult to see the forest for the trees. Try to keep the view manageable. Do a few at a time.
    Remember the man who jumped on his horse and rode in all directions at once. He didn't go anywhere.
    Small progress will add up to big gains.

    After editing them, we want to check their position
    after getting them within 1000 or 400 (depending which checker you use)
    you can track their progress and try for the first 3 pages (within 30
    or less) then the fun begins (this is where you really learn SEO)
    Then write an article on how you did it, what tools you used, and how
    and why others can do the same.

    Hi,

    Just started to look at all the great seo info you have posted and i noticed that you said it would be a good idea if i can add some info on each page, Do you think this will help,

    I coded each category page (530) to pull the info from the meta description e.g.

    For say Computers / Computer Repair

    Welcome to JYCO directory, Browse or search websites listed in Computer Repair offering services, products or websites of interest.

    At top of category page, Plus

    I coded each category page (530) to pull the info from the meta keywords e.g.

    At bottom of category page for above,

    Keywords for this category : computer repair, browse, search, services, products, websites, interest

    Now when i start to look into changing all the category descriptions & keywords as of your great advice.

    You will see my keywords
    Statistics highlighted in yellow
    sum highlighted in blue
    squares highlighted in green

    every place on the page they are used, they are highlighted
    thats what Google sees and positions the page for those keywords
    It is in the title of the page, in the description, and several times in the body of the page. The keyword density (keywords vs other text) should be between 2% - 5%. This varies depending on the SEO source. Use SEO tools to check this. Do not use filler words (words that do not relate to the subject) and do not overuse keywords (keyword stuffing) try to use high popularity words (high numbers in keyword tools) for the subject that are relevant to the subject and text (body of the page (not title, description and keywords) but below them.
    The better the match, the better chances to position high in Google (first few pages of the search for those keywords)
    The better the position, the better chances for traffic.
