Hi guys! First up, thanks for a great site :)

I'd like to request the customization of the Charity Logo template found here :

    Charity template

This is a beautiful template, however the charity which Id like to put it to use is for the terminally ill at home, and this is more likely to be elderly men/women rather than a little girl.

So id like to request if possible to change the the picture of the little girl to someone older. (obviously not sickly, just older) I think this would suit the site better.

The original image is called header.jpg.

    Thanks for the help!

Simple enough request. Can you supply a non-copyright picture of an elderly person (clear and large enough) to replace the girl with?
You may have to buy one.

The second one of the couple would suffice. Looks easy enough to remove the background and not lose tops of heads etc.
I see the smallest is 800 x 533 at 72dpi for $2. That would be plenty big enough for your header.
If you buy it, zip it up, and post here.
Remember to add a password to the zipped file and send the pw to me via private message.

Below is a 'mock-up' of how your page would look with that image added.

    Wow, what a great job!

Well I think it looks amazing, could I just ask in your honest opinion as someone who obviously knows a lot more about aesthetics than I do, do you personally think it suits the site?

If you do I'll purchase it right now, but please be honest because I could continue looking for another image :)

    Thanks again!

I don't want to sound morbid but this particular couple seem a tad too happy for a terminally ill type charity site.
Keep looking around, best to get it right rather than rush into it.
Perhaps other members may have some ideas to share with you regarding images.
Do a google image search for Palliative Care or terminally ill, you may get some ideas. A young hand holding an old hand seems to be a common theme.

    Cheers

Yeah I see what you're saying, it's quite hard finding a balance between someone too depressing and too upbeat ; but i'll keep looking :)

And yes any suggestions from anyone else here would be fantastic.

Hi again. Think I'm just going to go with that picture. I ran it past quite a few people I work with and they all thought it looked pretty fitting.

So what size should I purchase it in? The options are:

    Small JPEG 800x578 px - 72 dpi $2.00
    Medium JPEG 1600x1156 px - 300 dpi $3.00
    Large JPEG 3000x2167 px - 300 dpi $4.00
    X-Large JPEG 5183x3744 px - 300 dpi $5.00
    XX-Large TIFF 7775x5616 px - 300 dpi $40.00

    Thanks
    Mike

skribble, the way to figure out the size is two fold.

1.) jpeg files can be scaled down for use but really do not scale up.
2.) what is the approximate size of the little girl you are trying to replace?
header.jpg is 255 pixels high and she looks to be about half that for the width.
So by looking at both pictures and comparing them, you might conclude that the $2.00 picture should work just fine.

Thanks for the info :) CP already did a great mockup with the exact image i'm about to buy, so I'll just wait for her to give the $2.00 pic you recommended the go ahead and I'll purchase it.

She - He is a she - the yellow (blonde) hair on her avatar is the clue. :p

I could have put my actual colour of grey but it looked really dull.

    Skribble -
    Go for the $2 shot.
Remember to zip and send as per instructions in post #4.

Here's the header (right click and save as header.jpg)
Replace the original header.jpg that's in your image folder with this new one.

In case you might change your mind down the track or find a different image, I've attached a zipped file of the layered header.

    Any problems, let me know.

Thanks very much, the people look great!

However, the logo in the left hand side appears to be missing now, would it be possible to get this back also?

    Thanks

Oops! I removed that intentionally. Didn't think you'd want a 'wheat' ear for a logo. :)

Post #15 Image now has the logo in it.

Hehe it's better than nothing for now :D Thanks for putting it back.

I was actually thinking of using some variation of the first 3 images found at http://www.canstockphoto.com/images-photos/palliative.html for the logo, since the charity is to do with Caring for the terminally ill at home.

What are your thoughts on these?
