General Probably a stupid question

This is probably a question that has been answered a million times already, but I will ask again.

I have downloaded a template, opened the style sheet in notepad, and copied it into Evrsoft First Page. I have also copied the source code, and copied that into First Page.

All I see is the words (and boxes for the pictures). There is no background, and everything is in a left align for the entire page.

Not sure what I am doing wrong, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Each to their own, but I would dump Evrsoft First Page. It hasn't been updated or supported for a long time.
    Try looking here https://freewebsitetemplates.com/forum/f20/free-editors-get-you-started-quick-use-11030/

Why would you open in notepad and copy to Evrsoft???
All you did was tell the software you have a new page.
You could try to save it first, then look at it.
    or
Close everything and then open Evrsoft.
Now open the file you want to edit with Evrsoft.
There is an internal linking system in the software, so when you copied it, there was nothing to reference to.
