Hi I'm using 1 of your great templates and having trouble changing a picture.

    Here's my html line: <div id="pic1"><img src="simpsons_3.jpg" alt="Science" width="171" height="171"></div>

If I open up the page in the browser Opera it works perfectly with any pic I try.

When I try to open the page in IE the pic doesn't show.

I've tried loads of differnet pics I've mangaged to get 1 or 2 to work but the rest wont show. But on Opera every single 1 works.

No idea whats going on here, any bright ideas from any 1 else would help loads.

    Thanks,
    Jason.

Thanks for replying but that is already ticked.

I don't understand it. It works for Opera but not IE. I have managed to get 2 photos to show but I have tried about 20 (including .gif's).

Could it have anything to do the the qualitity of the file, different compressions when saving the jpg?

    Thanks

    Jason

    a jpg is a jpg.
it most likely has to due with your code and where your files are.
if the code is looking in one place and your files are in another it doesn't work.
why in opera and not ie? good question!
do you have a link we can look at?

I ment I have tried Jpeg's & Gif's. They are in the right place as when I open up the code in the browser "Opera" and every single pic I try always works in Opera.

Below is a link to my files. The files are "index.html" & "images.rar", the images are zipped. (Ignore the "user manual").

    Thanks

Ya, there is something really funky with IE7. I've been working on a template today (Hardware Store), and have been having the same issue when I change images around. This is when I'm working with the files on my PC.

When I open index.html in Firefox and Chrome, my images work ok.

When I open index.html in IE7, only the images provided in the template work. I can mix them up, putting different provided images in different places, and they work fine. But any images that I move into the images folder will not work. Again, if I open the same index.html file with IE7, Firefox, and Chrome, the images don't open in IE7 but do in Firefox and Chrome.

    However ...

When I created a subdomain off my main Internet domain (I'm eventually going to be replacing an existing production site), and uploaded all the files there, then the new web site launches fine and I can see the images.

I can't help you with your problem, but would suggest you upload your files and see if the issue disappears, and you've thus got some anomoly with your local setup that you don't need to worry about.

I am having the same problem with images in the zoo template. I am using Dreamweaver Cs 5.5 (DW), novice by by the way - all the gear and no idea.
Replacing the images in DW is a simple process, double click the image in the tag inspector select the correct size replacement image and save the image to the Local site. easy! The image displays in the DW design window, but when tested with IE it displays greyed out picture thumb nail (not the red cross) . The same test with firefox displays the image no problem.
    I have checked:
    The image is RGB
IE has picture tick box in the tools menu
The image is in the correct image folder for the site

What I haven't done yet is upload the files to the server to replace the old site. I would really like to iron out this bug so that I can continue to upload my site as it really looks from DW.

Is it a CSS code issue? Being a novice your templates are fantastic to get a professional look, but I have very little knowledge of how the CSS is embedded through the template.

Please offer any suggestions - I use my site for personal communication with my aging family from abroad and changing browsers to make the site work for them maybe a bridge to far
