    Hi,
I am making a website for a friend. However, I have zero knowledge about html and css and stuff like that. Should I create a website using the html/css templates available in plenty here or should I stick to a themed wordpress site? I would like to be able to add/modify content easily, maintain and update the site regularly. Ideally, I wouldn't want to keep referring to online manuals and tutorials everytime I need to do such changes; still, I can do so if needed.

I know that wordpress is very simple and easy to maintain, but I'm not sure if it can be used for a static website effectively. Opinions please.

If you have zero knowledge about HTML/CSS you should use a CMS to build your websites.

I don't know if Wordpress is very simple and easy to maintain or not but I know it is one of the most popular CMS around. Even though it was designed for Blog but it can be used for static website just as well. Being very popular means you can get support easily. However, WP is a very complex system and the code is quite large even without any plugins. If your sites are very small and simple you might want look into a number of small CMSes that are also free to use. You can try them out at opensouceCMS without installing them. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply. I have been using wordpress for my blog for quite some time, so I do feel comfortable. I will still check other CMSes before deciding. The link you have given is very useful.. I will check it out.
