Okay - I'm looking for expertise - I would like to use the soap and salt template for my sisters website. I try to open the psd file from the soap and salt template in adobe photoshop, but do not have enough RAM - my problem is, my sister (whom I'm doing the wesite for) likes the salt and soap template, but she really wants this header.... (see what I've worked on thus far below...) DONT LAUGH - I"M TRYING.....

Anyways - the problem I'm having is: #1 - I dont have enough RAM, to open the PSD file in Adobe Photoshop...

and #2 - it takes away the look of the template, and I dont have any clue on how to make it all blend in together. I thought if I could figure out how to put the rounded blue teal edges on it, it would blend - but the way I have it now - it'll look choppy with what I've created.

Does anyone out there have any suggestions for me? Anyone?

CovertPea?? I've heard you may know how to make this work..........

But if there is anyone out there that could help me out, it'd be greatly appreciated.....

You know - also - if someone could make it look better, or has suggestions on how to make it look BETTER - My sister really likes the webpages that have the header, with the person's picture that sorta sticks up above the banner (I dont know how to do that) - like the top of the head sticks up over the banner, but she wants the blue - and her title in script.... In fact, I couldn't find the script that she used on her business cards..... Adobe Photoshop only had what I have it in below.....

I really want to make her website pop, and look nice for her, but I'm just ramming my head into roadblocks..... (well that's what it feels like when I get my major headaches from working on it so much! HA HA HA HA HA HA HA!)

    I hope I'm making sense.....

I look foward to any help that someone may be able to provide to me....

    Thanks in advance!

If possible, it would help a whole lot if you could post the original header's PSD file (still layered so the image can be blended easier). If not I'll see what I can do.

Photoshop is a real ram chewer isn't it!
Ever thought of Paint Shop Pro? Same results but uses heaps less ram.
Btw, I ONLY ever use psp for the graphics I make.;)

    Thanks!

I never saved it as a psd file - because I was having so many problems, so I just saved it a .jpg - but I just went back into adobe photoshop and pulled the same pieces back together, however, I dont think it's the same image size - but I saved it as a psd with layers.... so I hope this helps.
I am clueless how to make it blend, and especially with the salt and soap template.
Thanks a bunch CovertPea - Ishkey said you'd probably help me out, and he was right! This freewebsite templates forum is the greatest... because it led me to some pretty great people!

    Here's another psd file....

This one I made larger - but it's still saved in layers in the psd file - is that what you wanted from me?

I thought this one looked better - but I could be wrong...........

    Thanks mate.
I've downloaded the larger one and will have a fiddle round with it this evening when it's quieter. Is that basically all you wanted done? Blend the lady's pic to that same background?
What about the text, any changes there?

MY MAIN GOAL HERE IS TO GET THIS IMAGE HEADER TO MATCH THE SALT AND SOAP TEMPLATE HEADER - TO GET IT TO BLEND WITH THE SALT AND SOAP TEMPLATE. To get all the BLUES to blend - AND THE OUTLINE, ETC. AND THE FEATURES TAB TO GO SOMEWHERE IN HERE AS WELL....

You see, in the Salt and Soap Template, at the top of the menu list - they have a FEATURES tab - I can't open the psd file to edit that image - What I'd like to do is if there is a way someone could take the image I created, blend it into the salt and soap template header, and put the features box into it, and the outline around it, so it all BLENDS together - so I can use that template with this header, that's what I really want.....

Am I making sense? Sometimes I ramble and dont even understand what I just said. :p

I'll attach the header from the salt and soap template so you see what I'm talking about.... I'm not sure how to achieve that result... and make it look nice at the same time. And how to make the blues match somehow..... since my header is mostly dark blue.

So I want to take that salt and template header, and get rid of the bubbles, soap, word S&S salt and soap, etc.. and put my sisters header in there, and have the light blue border go all around it (like below), and the features tab to fit correctly so when it's all pieced together in the template - it matches... and fits right.

Can that be accomplished, or am I shooting for the impossible?

I like the font that is used in the word Features - and my sister likes the SCRIPT font too - so I dont care what kind of FONT is used per say.... but she really like the Fancy type of font like Features is done below.

So even if you could take the header, and make it look nice - we want her photo in the header, and her name, and the Title of her website - VISIONS WITH PURPOSE

And her name is Andersen (with an SEN, not SON) - I know my font makes it look like an SON......

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for any help you MAY be able to provide......

I'm glad I waited for your reply before starting on the header! LOL ;)
I'm sure we can work something out like you want it, in fact another member and myself altered this very same header for someone else here just last week. Hopefully I still have the editable layers stashed somewhere on my pc.
(just checked and they're still there.) :D That will make it easier!
Give me a day or two to finish it please.

    Cheers

Having that "Features" tab there made it hard to work around but anyway...
I've done up 2 with different colouring (as below)
If you want just the header file (coloured slightly to match rest of template page) get it here:
    http://www.mediafire.com/?8umsxwmozyx

The second one I changed the rest of the page to fit with the colouring of the original background you wanted
    You can get that here:
    http://www.mediafire.com/?dwv2z4gj49h

It's just a matter of copying over the files I've provided with the ones you already have in the template (including the CSS file)

    Hope you can use them

    Thank You!

They both look wonderful! You are great! I love how you blended the colors! THEY ARE PERFECT!

I know - that features tab did me in each time I tried something too. THAT and the fact that adobe kept crashing.

So here's a question for you - if... my sister wanted to update a photo later on, how would I edit the header? Or if she wanted to lets say, take her name off, etc.... is there a document that this header is in layers, that can be edited later down the line if need be?

Just curious as I noticed, right now, it's just a basic jpeg image... in the images folder.

So I didn't know if it could be edited at all in the future? Let me know if you can.

    AGAIN, THANK YOU!

I think I like the darker blue color better?

    What do you think?
I think the darker blue looks better - just wanted another opinion...

And if I want to use the dark blue - what files do I have to use from the original template, versus the ones you provided me?

    AGAIN, THANK YOU! YOUR GREAT!

I'm partial to the blue too, very relaxing to look at. (almost lavender in colour.)

Sorry about not including the psd files, you can get them both here along with a short text file explaining how to change stuff yourself if you want to.
