Web Design Dont understand...please help

I have photoshop CS2 9...and dreamweaver 8....i kno how to use both...and i also kno html and some php/asp ....im not too familiar with css ...but can learn....

My problem is....i downloaded the gothy gaming template (https://freewebsitetemplates.com/preview/template17/)
i wanted to change the red logo that says gothy gaming, txt, take out the pictures, and move the search bar.....i did all that...then i saved it...but idk how to update the html...i researched it alot and found alot on slices and whatnot..i basically understand how it works now....the slices are the jpgs and gifs in the "Image" folder..am i correct?? when i hit shift+z+alt+ctrl <--(save for web i think it its) , it brings up the save thing..but idk how to save the slices so it will override the images in the image folder

*edit* i use save for web with all the slices and images only but idk how to specify the slices that i changed ...and i used this site(one of many..but i kinda like this one) for reference http://www.wateronlydries.com/?p=158 *edit*

o and i forgot... when i goto view/show/slices ....it shows it as one big slice....but idk if i have to change that...or if i could like....show it the jpg files i want it to change or what..im really confused *2nd Edit*

somone please let me in on the secret that i cant find on google or on this forum lol......all i need to kno is how to save over the jpgs and gifs in the image folder after im done editing the psd file
