Liz, what do you use to process your photographs? If you are able to buy Photoshop (and it has gone to the "cloud" for the next version, so I don't know if you can still buy the older versions without a subscription) then you would also have it to process your photos. Unless you already use lightroom for that? In which case, maybe there's something better available for your logo.

I haven't bought lightroom or photoshop yet.... I've been playing around with my Canon G12 which takes awesome pics because I do digital albums and now I just bought my canon 60D and have 2 lens with it to start working on another level.. I just work with my iphoto in my MAC its pretty neat !! but everyone keeps saying I need to buy photoshop to airbursh etc.. but most of all I want to at least start with my logo to be able to put on pics, then with work flow I can invest in photoshop .. and I thought on buying lightroom first but I've gotten diffrent points of view , some say to buy both and others just to work with photshop.. because lightroom is cool be doesnt have the airbrush or good clean up .. thats what Ive heard .. can I just make my logo somewhere ?? and just pay for it meanwhile I buy any of the software ?
thank you I appreciate it the info so much :)

I'm new here and finding my way around, but I believe I did see somewhere that you could purchase logos or ask particular designers? I'm not sure on that, but hopefully someone here who's been here longer can answer. You can also ask for free help, which I've tried to do. But I'm not sure exactly how that works either, since I haven't gotten a response yet.

As for Photoshop vs. Lightroom, personally I'd buy photoshop before lightroom, because you can do much of what lightroom does in ACR (which is included in photoshop). And with photoshop there's a lot more than just airbrushing - you can clone, use layers, masks, all that. But take my advice with a grain of salt, because I've never tried lightroom. One of these days I'll get around to using the free trial disc I have and see what the big deal about it is. :)
