    Hey Guys,
I am re-branding my Mobile Disco company and would like a new logo!

It needs to be in vector format so it can be printed on t-shirts.

The name of the company will be Dan Ross Entertainment.

It must not be related to wedding discos however as I do not supply for this market however I would like it to be elegant!

the website address will be www.danross.co.uk
    3 Logos I like are:
Your Wedding Day | Colin Cook - Professional Wedding DJ and Presenter in the North East of England

Cheltenham Experienced Wedding & Party Disco & Mobile DJ Hire - Deckstar Deluxe - Gloucestershire

    Thank you!

Welcome to the FWT forum Dan.

You'll need to supply more info before we can put a logo together for you.
To get the ball rolling, please read the 'sticky' HERE and please try to give a hand around the forum.

    Cheers
    CP

Please note - this site has been brought to my attention following the theft and display of my copyrighted logo above.

I have to say I am pretty disgusted to see someone encouraged to display illegally obtained copyrighted material on a site such as this in the hope that someone else will produce a near rip off of my own hard work.

Please can I request that my logo above plus any links to me website are removed.

    Thank you

    Colin Cook

    Colin,
We here at FWT take all copyright issues extremely seriously. Our intent in asking the below question (#4 in blue) is to get nothing more than a 'feel' of what style the requester is after.
If you look at #1. of The DONT'S you will see where we specifically insist requesters not expect similar copies or 'rip-offs' of other company/teams copyrighted material.
    4) Search the Internet for any logos/designs on the web that you feel convey the style you are looking for.

    The DONT'S
    1) Do not ask (or expect) our graphics people to come up with an almost exact copy of some other company brand or team logo.
Changing an original logo's colouring and/or text does not automatically make the design YOURS!
There are still legal copyright issues to consider.

I apologise if you feel our standard logo request questions have caused you to believe we had any intentions of ignoring the basics of copyright.

As requested, your header image and site link have now been deleted.

Hi CP and thanks for your reply.

I appreciate your comments, that is good to hear.

My issue was with the OP taking content he had no right to and posting it here. Common courtesy would suggest at least asking first.

It's one thing to link to a few sites and say something like 'these guys seem to have similar to what I am thinking about' and actually posting logos, web headers etc.

Really?? He was just posting them here as an EXAMPLE of the style he was looking for and you're totally disgusted by it?

Yes. Dont I have that right?

Links back to my website I havent asked for, specific posting of my copyright image (which admin have now removed - thanks admin)

I appreciate everyone is different but in my world I would have the common courtesy and decency to ask someone before posting their material on a publicly viewable forum. It isnt like he e-mailed or PM'd the stuff.

I spend a large percentage of my time preventing my photos, text and other items being stolen by lazy DJs who cant be bothered to do their own work, so yes I am sensitive about it.

In this particular instance I appreciate there was no attempt to steal, but a complete lack of courtesy from the OP in that he trawled a DJ forum of which he is a member, visited websites of other members and that every link he mentioned in his original OP (prior to it being edited) was of other forum members work.

As the main Admin of that other forum I have received complaints from 2 other members regarding this and only found out about it when it was 'outed' on the forum.

Again, I appreciate the OP is a very young person himself and perhaps doesnt yet understand the values of courtesy, but to see a 'Senior Member' make such a comment is not a good reflection on this forum either.

Good manners cost nothing and mean a lot.

On a separate note, communities being what they are - had the OP bothered to contact people to ask their permission he probably would have received a lot of help and advice from everyone he contacted.

Anyway - thank you to Admin for removing the material.

Yes our member above is 14 years young, whom is still learning and likes to participate in the forums, even at times when he should just sit back and listen. From some of his older posts I speculate he is more questioning why. Young people have a tendency to post short sentences lacking substance to properly communicate.

All I can say is welcome to the internet! Post something online and it will be copied somehow. You need to have a look at what you are saying here. Someone has taken a liking to your logo and thought it was something they were going for. As said before no one on this site would get a copt of your logo! I would take this all as a huge compliment. Plus a possible free link back to your site possibly helping your google ranking! Toys from pram here!

Also I may know you from other forums... MDD?
