  1. I am in search of a logo to brand our new photography studio. I will try my best to answer the questions requested on this forum.

    1. Our website address is studio831photography (still in progress, but accessible)

    2. Our website will showcase our photography work and talent to clients and future clients.

    3. Sample #1 - http://logodesignerslogos.com/wp-content/uploads/image1792.png
(I can see the 831 meshed together like in this logo and the "studio" and "photography" offset smaller.

Sample #2 -http://i42.tinypic.com/2gy1u3b.jpg This is another simple and clean logo I like. Just basic, but bold.

    Sample #3 - http://i12.photobucket.com/albums/a224/darrellp1/logo_amanda_180.jpg

    4. Size of the logo? What it will be used for is as the primary logo on the website and also to brand our photos, both on the web and prints. Possibly on a t shirt or 2 just so we are recognized at events we shoot. If it is possible, the logo in various sizes would be great.

    5. Do you have any images/photos that can be used for the logo? No

    6. Don't really have a color preference. I would like a color logo and then maybe a black logo and all white logo. Not sure what you think. Also a transparent background is a must.

My Wife and I have both served in the Marine Corps. Before we were married, we were separated by different orders to different duty stations. To make a long, but good story short, we were apart for 12 years and the only contact we kept was by letters. One thing she always wrote to me was 831 at the end of every letter. 8 letters 3 words 1 meaning. That's what held us together and brought us back together after so long. So, I named my photography business studio831photography.

Please feel free to email or message me any questions you all may have. Also, please forgive me if I violate any rules by stating this, but I will donate/contribute to either the artist and/or this site, whichever is preferred for your help. Thank you in advance for any and all help.

    Finally a graphic I can do :D

I gave it a go anyway. Tried to keep it simple but yet 'creative' and also more text based rather than graphic. Didn't have an idea of where to put the '831' I tried it at the back but it then became too big.. I was going to lower the opacity of it but then when you print it won't come out as it looks.

The big 'Y' is meant to represent a stand for the camera.

    But here it is anyway...

Let me know what you think...

  3. Nice work for sure. Not sure it's me though. The text based logo is fine. The shutter is a no-no though. Even though you made it flow good, too many photographers have a shutter in the logo. I like how the 831 stands out.

Didn't know about that..something I learned :D I'll give it another try and see what else I can come up with :)

so no shutter in what so ever? I was thinking of having each different 'part' of the shutter in different colours and then putting that at the back?

Hi Guys, hope you don't mind me butting in, but insted of the shutter, how about a flash bulb? (old school)

That was my next idea lol I'll try a 3D logo if I can not sure if you'll try the flash bulb but go for it if you like sounds like a bit of a job though.

Right, i've managed to create other designs. Probably the worst 3D design you'll ever see but gave it a shot anyway :D

    Here they are...

    S831P_logo-3.jpg

    S831P_logo-4.jpg

The Blue thing in the 3D one is meant to be those big screen things that photographers use to get their shadows on whatever they are taking a photo of.

Let me know what you think.

  9. That's pretty awesome genuinegraphics.co.uk. Pretty good work. I don't want to be picky about our logo, but I kind of have to. I'm just not seeing it yet. Let me hunt around for some that I like and maybe we can get on a better track here. It's hard to explain what I'm looking for, but simple and basic, clean lines and not too much flair. Try to picture a logo on your wedding photos that you paid $3,000 for a photographer to shoot. The biggest day of your wife's life. Elegant, but simple. I'll be back in a bit with some examples.

$3,000?! wow I get what you need. Post up the examples anyway and we'll work from them. :)

  11. http://pinchmysalt.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/11/food-photo-101-logo.jpg (I like the lens logo here. I can see an elegant "831" in the glass somehow, and studio and photography as the lens info around the circle.)

http://www.easyweddingsearch.com/pro/wp-content/uploads/peter-prior-logo.gif (Absolutely LOVE this logo. It says upscale. It says elegant and high quality.)

http://www.weddingtoremember.com/uploads/logos/37/37.jpg (This one is nice. Clean and simple. Adds that flash effect that you were speaking of as well.)

That's actually a very creative design. Great Job forest. If you can get an 8 that has like two O's on top then that could work or you could just type in 2 O's and put one on top of the other. But love the idea though

I think the 2nd one you posted was better. It actually had the same font used with the 'P' and the 'O' so that also looked like an 8 and also the letters for the words.

    Great work though ;)
