    Hi all,
I'd like to request help on a logo for kids I coach. I started some impromtu sessions at a local clearing some time ago, and the little fellas keep coming back and bringing friends with them! My one or two evenings a week with the kids has blown up into 5 nights a week volunteering (4 nights, and 1 night of 'street soccer' where the kids divide themselves up and make the rules, I just provide the 'props', extra water, and band aids as needed). It has all been very rewarding to teach those that are eager to learn and have fun, and even go home and practice on their time off so they can show me their new 'tricks'. We've hit a point where they want to start entering tournaments to play other areas and they want our own logo. After going through a seemingly never ending list of animals, the kids settled on what we are surrounded by - water and palm trees. Actually ducks too, but the kids could not reach a consensus on sticking a duck on their shirts :)
I found a couple logos on here that I'd like to adapt for my kids shirts, but as much fun as it is to play with the graphics my skills are more than a little lacking!
If the logos can be customized with the below information, our group would be most appreciative. I have read through a couple threads and seen this is a give and take site - not sure what value I can bring, but I will certainly try to find a way. Thanks in advance!

Regarding the questions from the forum sticky:
1 & 2) What is your website address (ex: http://site.com ; Site Name)?
    none yet

    3) List 3 logo designs you really like & why:
Two, attached, that were designed on this site and were in my opinion very impressive works. My skills are somewhat limitied beyond the very basics in paint shop pro. The logo will be used mainly for print and kids shirts, with the green/blue logo as the main logo (kids favorite) and the blue/white version as a probably more cost effective print logo.
    A couple changes requested:
The name in the top box would be "DISCOVERY"
Three of the white wave lines instead of four (actually ties in very nicely to our practice field location next to a lake. The palm trees addition are also all around our practice field.
Can you make the soccer ball dark panels, outline, and lines match the color blue used?
The bottom section would be "EST 2007"
A small cross added to the bottom of the logo. Each of our soccer sessions conclude with a devotional with the kids that ties back to our faith.

    4) Requested size of your logo:
The logo will be used for print, shirts, and web. Various resolutions/sizes would be much appreciated.

    5) Do you have any images/photos that can be used for the logo? (must be copyright free)
    No.

    6) Any colors you prefer?
Green, blue (as shown in my poor quality mock ups!)

I'll do this one as I have the original layered files for it.

Great program, almost on an equal par with Photoshop.
Price-wise, you can't go wrong when buying psp. (talking about the original Jasc PSP of course) ;)

Thanks for the help CP. Never used Photoshop before, but Paint Shop Pro is pretty handy. I've got one of the JASC versions, 6.0. Picked it up long ago to modify some digital photos and never really did get the hang of all the other features. If the program I have is capable of the logos you produce JASC must of forgotten to stick the magic wand in my box. :)
If you are tied up on other projects and can send me the layers and info on font/size used for the lettering and what resolution I need to save at for print, I wouldn't mind giving it a shot.
Either way, thanks much for your help!

    Thanks for your patience Drayton.
Attached is zipped file of full sized crest with transparent background.

Let me know when you have the file downloaded so I can remove it from the forum.

    Cheers
    CP

    CP,
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you. My 5 and 6 year old sons took me camping for Father's Day. Ever see a large pop tent erected by youngsters? Lopsided, but effective! It held for the weekend and the conversations were priceless! :)
I did download the file, and thank you! The logo looks great - wish I had your skill and polish. Would it be too much to ask for a divider in the logo? We are going to end up with different colors for the boys and girls sides. I see adding a divider bar between the ball and palm tree panels like you did with the Corton logo does not work with the 2 color logo, but can you add a trace white line along the top and left sides of the blue palm tree box, and continue the blue line of the top wave across the bottom of the ball panel? This would give me a border to work with to change colors. I'm striking out trying to get the desired effect on my own.
If you don't have the time to make the changes, I understand and am much appreciative of your work! It has truly been helpfull!
    Thanks

Thanks Montague. The efforts are a win win all around. I've coached kids for years, and am truly having fun with a great bunch of kids that are eager for the learning and getting more than they bargained for. Many life lessons come out during training and activities, and my older kids all buddy up with my younger kids which makes everyone proud. My oldest daughter that I coached for 9 years helps me run everything now. My two boys are learning how to give back and how and why we spend our time helping those that need and want it, and they help out as well as participate. Good family time, good lessons, and many rewards seeing all the kids confidence grow on and off the field being themselves and proud of who they are. Thanks for the kind words.

I've added the thin outline. I've also made up a separate one for the girls.
    Would these be okay?
