Customization New design for basic joomla site (football club)

    Hi,

    My site Chanel SSC is up and running with the JA Purity template from Joomla.

    I'm looking to improve the design of the website so it isn't so boring. Maybe add a team photo on the front page etc. Our logo which was designed by CovertPea is up there but it is red and black stripes.

    I would take the logo off the header area since it looks distorted up there. Then enlarge it and place it where the login section is, centered. This will move the login down but still visible. You might as well be proud of your team and why be like everyone else who hides their logos, well that's because they all use the same website and template but your using Joomla so go for it.

    Put a team photo on the right below the results. As an example if you were to use the pic you have on the squad page or one like it make sure you crop the picture to highlite the team - dump all the crud on the left, right and top. This way you can zoom in on the players and see them when displayed.

    Just those two things will certainly help fill in all those white pages you have and a splash of graphics never hurts.

    I definitely agree with adding a team photo. I want to get a good image of the team first.

    Sorry about the delay in replying.
    I'd like to see what ideas you have.
    To answer your questions.
    1. would like to have team photo on the front page but don't have an up to date one yet so could just use a dummy picture

    2. our team colours are red and black so something with those colours but it doesn't have to be dark themed I dont mind.

    3. beside the logo i would like to see chanelssc.com but with a better font.
