I really like to view other templates and themes, but seeing the same Wordpress stuff over and over is really getting tiresome.

Does anyone know how to post "Original Work" as opposed to using all those "wonderful" plugins which automates a Worpress template to collect and post on your site and then repost here for the sake of "Link Farming"?

This social networking, mash-up garbage is becoming annoying.
After all this is a Website about "html/css" based templates with a hugh "help section.
If I want to search for templates, I think I can find them just by using one of the search engines.
I can't wait for the next Google fix about this one. (read-on)

If you look at most of the so called Wordpress Wannabe Websites, 99% of what you will find in the body are "links" to other sites. Rarely will you find something of substance that they wrote. It's the copycat syndrome and a world gone mad, "Is that site cool, I got to have one, hurry, hurry, hurry, get it up, give me all those plug-ins". People have lost the ability to create their own mark. They just have to have it now and spend and the majority of their time trying to promote their site, wondering why it never gets found.
"My site has been up for 6 months, I've regestered everywhere, and yet I get no traffic!"

It's looking like using Blogging is becoming the legitimate spamming tool or at the least, a promotion tool for those sites with real substance. Aren't they lucky to have all those others promoting their site for them.
Now they understand a business plan...

I agree wholeheartedly with you Dave!!

These WP posts are getting out of hand.
Most repeat posters keep them under the one thread but many are just dropping them where ever. I seem to be forever merging their spread out posts into the one thread.

To be honest, I don't know much about the WP's. I can't say I've ever saw one as yet that makes me think "Wow".
Obviously they are extra easy to put together as every man and his dog seems to be whacking them together and posting them here.
Perhaps Mimoun could kindly create a separate "Share your free Wordpress templates" section?

I agree with you Dave. I was even thinking about closing the share your templates forum down, but people would just start posting their templates all over the forum. Now the madness is limited to that one forum.

I think it’s a good idea Susan to isolate the mediocre wordpress themes by creating a separate forum for the wordpress themes.
I don’t think it even needs to be on the main forum section, but just a sub forum inside the share your templates forum.

We can further discourage mediocrity and encourage more original works by adding a original website templates forum. The only problem will be in defining what constitutes a original website template.

Easier would be adding a freedom website templates. Templates posted in this forum will have to have the same kind of terms of use as our website. They can’t force you to place spam links in your footer, have any spam banners or even force you to leave a made by give-me-pagerank-website link. I don’t think we will have a lot of templates in this forum, but at least if one is added it will be worth checking out.

    Absolutely!
Bringing this site back to its original intention of providing a brilliant resource for 'no strings attached' FREE, high quality, web templates and template support.

I believe is as you said it
When the search engines remove incentives for link spamming and pc vendors stop including the dozens of toolbars as part of their pre-installed browsers to influence the end user (its difficult to locate the real address bar), things will improve.

And then are the license terms like the creative commons where someone takes advantage of the "license freedom" to request link spam. Perhaps you could force similar terms as with the official templates or gfdl or public domain. That should give the option to the user to modify every part of the template the way he wants.

Another thing to do perhaps is to promote public domain resources. There are sites with high quality public domain pictures that can be used with various template themes and no strings attached.

I think having a business plan is the most important aspect of any web site. Too often I see people putting up sites that have no direction or are simply blogging about something insignificant to me.
I also see a bunch of what I call “Cookie Cutter” sites that are clearly only an attempt to generate ad sales with PPC or affiliates and these sites have very little content. What content is there is often either “shallow” of just filler.

These sites are only meant to generate money and while google bots frown them still their number is growing and they in fact generate more than a hundred page one.

I've been trying to avoid that type of thing by wasting a lot of free time on reddit - at least it is usually pretty original content!
