hi. before i start downloading any of these and spending lord knows how many hours fooling with them, i want to know what the catch is??? how is it that they are being offered for free? is there some sort of built in advertising in the templates that i will be unable to control?

    thanks!

Like Riley said, there is no catch. :)
Oh wait, if saying 'thanks' is considered a 'catch' then maybe that's one.

Some grateful members here also stick round and help others out with different stuff.
Such as help with css, graphics, logos and some by simply answering questions such as yours!

    Cheers!

Believe you or not but there isn’t any hidden catch. At this site Free Templates really mean Free ones. Just use and enjoy them!

Well I'm not an owner of this website, but they appear to make money through the use of Google's AdWords (or AdSense depending on the way you look at it).

I'd guess the owners of this website created a bunch of free templates to freely distribute. This then would get their website popular and hopefully if the website is popular enough, they could make a little $$ by ad generation. Also, if someone needed some customer work, they could request it and they could make money that way.

Think about it. If your forum had 20,000 members and just 1% of them needed custom (paid) work done every couple of months, that's not bad for simply $9.95/month for the cost of forum web hosting.

It is true, the templates are free. There's no catch as far as you're concerned.

Other than that, there's a bunch of us here to help you if you need it. People helped me when I first was starting out, it's only fair that I return the favor.

Good luck my friend and welcome.
