PHP Need help with my website

I have found a website template on your site that I'm sure I could use for our fire department but here's my problem.
We need one area of the website to which members only have access. (this needs to be a secure site since internal documents will be kept here). Does anyone know where I can find information to do such a thing? Or alternatively, is there anyone out there who would be willing to take me through this step by step please?

I would suggest using php. Bravenet does not use secure logins. You can use php. I use it on my site, and it is secure and works perfectly. You should search for php login scripts. I believe there is a free2code.com article in there. Use that one. You also need a database.
