    Hello!!

My name is Justin Hardy - I am wondering if someone can help me, or even design me a brand new logo for our football team. Below is some info.

Club Name - Robertsbridge United FC
    Established - 1896
Previous logo included a very intriquate image of a bridge, and was black and white. Link for the logo - Image is on the top right of the home page.
    http://www.clubwebsite.co.uk/robertsbridgeunitedfc/

Our team colours are black and white stripes (Juventus/Newcastle United style).

Ideally I would like a fairly simple layout of logo/badge/sheild.

I'd like the a sheild shape design. Black and white stripes as the background, a football, and either Robertsbridge United FC or RUFC on the design somewhere. If possible i'd also like EST 1896 there too.

I like all the styles on this page, so perhaps some ideas can come from here?
    http://www.designcrowd.co.uk/contest.aspx?id=8281

The design would be put onto our website, but it would be good if I can get this for use on team shirts and training tops too.

I'm not sure what else I do now about this request, I just hope someone readds this and lets me know if I am doing something wrong.

Just seen this, so I will make my request again with this. Sorry for getting it wrong.

    1) What is the exact name you would like in your logo?
The exact text that you want in your logo. Include other details like
positioning, if you need it done in a certain way.
Robertsbridge Untied FC - Left to right or RUFC top to bottom.

    http://images.designcrowd.com/designs/27445_237514_8281_thumbnail.jpg

    2) What is your website address (ex: http:/site .com/; Site Name)?
If the logo is to be displayed on your website, style, colouring and background
blend needs to be taken into consideration.
    http://www.clubwebsite.co.uk/robertsbridgeunitedfc/

    3) Description of your website or business:
Another aid for our graphics people in deciding on an appropriate style design.
    Football Club

    4) Search the Internet for any logos/designs on the web that you feel convey
the style you are looking for?
Either post small images of the logo designs (please keep any posted graphics under 600 x 600 pixels) or the URL of where the image/s can be found.
By supplying this info you are helping our graphics people get an idea of the preferred 'style'
    you are looking for.
upload the graphics and explain what it is about them you like, be as descriptive as you can.
We will not guess as to what is on your mind.
    http://www.designcrowd.co.uk/design/234226
    http://images.designcrowd.com/designs/27325_236079_8281_thumbnail.jpg
    http://images.designcrowd.com/designs/13178_237892_8281_thumbnail.jpg

    5) Requested size of your logo:
Basically we ask this to determine the graphics resolution and what it will be eventually used for.
Is the logo to be used solely for the web? (low resolution)
Will it be made into a poster or printed on shirts? (high resolution)
I am not technically minded enough to know what I need to tell you, but we would like the image for our website and also for use for football tops/training tops.

    6) Do you have any images/photos that can be used for the logo? (must be copyright free)
Finding an appropriate, non-copyrighted graphic is the hardest and most time-consuming part
of putting together logos. If you have a hand drawn sketch of what you want, please feel
free to scan it and post the image.
(please keep any posted graphics under 600 x 600 pixels.)
Don't have your own but you require graphic in your logo, then search and find at least two that reflect what you are visualizing post them or a link and explain what it is about them you like, be as descriptive as you can.
Nothing other than what you've seen in the previous links.

    7) What logo styles do you like (text only, image only, text and image, etc.)?
This will help the designers know what type of logo styles you are into and will create your
    logo accordingly.
Text Only - Includes a text only logo which is a logo with just text and some extra effects.
Image only – Includes and image logo with no text (or little text such as initials)
Text and Image – Includes text and images used in your logo. This could be used to either
give a clearer view of what your logo is showing to your audience.
I very much like the style of MLS logos and also the creativity of what I would consider new school logos, I do not like old school.
    http://www.infofootballonline.com/top_football_teams/logo_arsenal.gif Old School
    http://freekicker.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/arsenal-logo.png New School

    8) What colors do you want to see in your logo?
State any main colours that you would like in your logo.
    Black and White only

    9) What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo?
State any colours that you do not want in your logo.
    See 8

    10) Describe the target audience for your logo
This will help the designers to create a logo based at your target audience (e.g Kids – Colourful, eye-catching, possibly characters)
Footballers - eyecatching design, something bold.

    11) What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
This will help the designer know how to design your logo and to what effect.
(e.g could be targeted to attract new businesses, gamers, newly weds, children,
    builders etc etc)
We'd like to convey we are an old club, we've been around a long time. Something to say were still here, not going anywhere. Perhaps to attract local sponsorship.

    12) Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?
This will help the designers know which format to create the logo in. You will not
have to decide yourself as all designers will know. Please note down everything that
your logo will be placed on which includes any future plans.
Failure to do so will result in a bad quality logo.
Website, printing on shirts and training tops.

    13) Do you have other info or links you want to share?
Please feel free to comment on anything else that you would like your logo to have if it has
    not been mentioned above.
    No
    14) Finally we need is there a style font you prefer, please let us know.
For font types you can look here daFont or one of the many Font Websites available.
    Any from http://logo.designcrowd.co.uk/contest.aspx?id=8281&page=2

In response to your PM "How do I....?"
It would seem you have figured part of the Sticky Post (the request part) now while you wait continue with the other part (helping out).

Can I just check, am I meant to be helping anyone in the forums by giving advice? Or is there a certain forum I should be involved with?

If so can you send me the link?

    Thanks.

I case you are wondering why no one has commented - as the Sticky Post states "Remember, our designers all have jobs/businesses/lives as well". This is a forum with people in many different time-zones and no telling what is going on in their lives. I myself will be heading out soon and won't be back until late.

You posted up lots of choices to select from and didn't say what elements you liked. This leaves things open to interpretation on our part and more of what we like. That being said here is what my feeble mind envisioned.
(strips have never been easy on my eyes - they move when I stare at them - no fun when drawing)
Hopefully it's close. If not comment so the others will know.

    Hi Ishkey.

This is very much along the ideas I was looking at.

Could you have a look at the Notts County emblem in this link - http://www.accessnetwork.org/page/Notts-County-Football-Club.html and see if you can add the stiped area at the bootom into it, i also llike the shape of the sheild in this link, could you look at that too.
I also wondered if perhaps where in the Notts County emblem they have birds over a ball that perhaps you can get a very simple bridge (we are nicked named "The Bridge" and there is a bridge in the village of Robertsbridge) with a ball (black and white hexagon patches under the bridge.

Obviously this is free to anyone who wants to have a go at it, I do like what you're doing though Ishkey.

    Cheers!!

You should have read and answered the questions in your second post as you did in your last one, as I just don't have the time to create a new one from scratch nor the inclination.

Thanks 1970Forest, it looks fab, could you do another but with double the number of stripes in the bottom section? I just wanna compare.

    Many thanks.

Thanks for your help Iskhey, what you designed does look great, unfortunately when you see something you get ideas about how to improve/change direction. No offense meant by saying if you dont want the hassle then dont, I was very willing to donate 'tips' but if you feel you cant help me out then no problem.

    Thanks.

We have been down this road long ago, that is why there is a sticky post with a closing statement.
"Remember - Take time to answer all the questions the best you can, communicate as much information as you can, be descriptive because if not, then maybe you are just excited about having a graphic made and you are not ready for one, which ends up waisting everyone's time. Think of it this way - Your ability to create graphics is nil whereas our abilities to read minds does not exist."

Again, thanks for what you have done, I'll see if 1970forest can improve on his already brilliant effort. I do feel that you are trying to be a little too strict with your guidelines. Sometimes is good to get feedback on what was originally asked for so that you can get that little extra pzaz in what you are looking for. I suppose a bit like asking us to review websites, the people get feedback and then go off and improve their site.

    Thanks ikshey.

Yes mate I am, the give away would have been on my profile; From UK
    Here's another version

Yeah the profile does give it away, I should have looked!!

That last version is again brilliant, although I cant help think the 2 larger white stripes do not look right, just my opinion. Would you be able to remove the 2 thicker white stripes and replace them with thinner ones like you added in that version, and also remove the 3 white semi-circles the 2 either side of the "FC" and the one the "FC" is in, perhaps make the FC to look the same as the UNITED?

I reckon then we have a winner.

I really like the bridge shape that ROBERTSBRIDGE is in.

What sort of software do you use to make these sort of emblems? Its all very clever.

Are you excited about the new season then, seeing as you have a take over thing going on? I'm in the same boat, well nearly, i'm a Leeds fan and we are hopefully being bought by a little rich arab tycoon. Feeling good about this season!!

I have tried it with stripes underneath and it looks awful, and I will not post something I do not like
Removing the semi-circles, then it does not look like a bridge (again see my above reasoning

    What's the prize???

That's why I did it (how smug am I??)

Many but mainly PhotoshopCS5 or Illustrator

Fair enough, you know what you're on about!!
So, what happens now, how do I get what you've created so I can use it for our website and football kits?

    Again, the design it brilliant!!

Bit of a shock to the system having SOD appointed, but think the better choice than having a big named manager.

Yeah rumor has it that these Kuwait's and another Arab bidder were in for both Forest and Leeds, but only the Kuwait's could prove fiances, I hope with the extra time the Arabs now; that have gone for LUFC can this time prove funding, but I wouldn't hold my breathe.
Be happy just to build this season, as long as we can better the 3-7 of last season..lol
