Don't know if this freeware program has been posted before, but for all you users who can not afford to by a graphics program or if Gimp step learning curve is to much. Check out Artweaver http://www.artweaver.de/index.php?en_version
I have found it to be easy to use and able to alter those psd files. Maybe our Pro Graphics People can give their 3 cents worth.;) (inflation)

    All that and under 9MB!
I've downloaded it and will have a play round with it this evening.
I'll post some feedback after I run it through its paces.

Seriously though, where else can you find a graphics program that supports layers and is free.
    (apart from good ol' Gimp)

    Great find Dave!

Artweaver is a free graphics editor Bitmap for Windows developed by Boris Eyrich, mainly intended for professional and amateur designers who are familiar with commercial programs like Adobe Photoshop and Corel Painter particular. Like the latter, Artweaver is capable of simulating a wide range of classical effects (such as oils, acrylics, pastels, pencils, airbrushes, etc) to create images of natural art. It also offers filter effects, such as sharpening, blur, emboss and mosaic, as well as support for transparency and the layer in its own format for AWD. Artweaver supports common file formats such as BMP, GIF, JPEG, PCX, TGA, TIFF, PNG, PSD, although the BMP.,. GIF,. And JPEG. PNG does not have layer support. The program also has the standard image editing tools like gradient, crop, fill and selection tools (including the lasso and magic wand), and the pen tablet support for a sense of realism. Artweaver also be run on Linux and other Unix-like operating systems the use of wine.

No. OS X is a Unix based operating system; even if it doesn't work by default you can use Wine.
