I have a fan site for a singer, song writer and bassist named Rinat. The site is called Rinat Central. She's from Israel and I think she's talented. I made the site using SWiSHmax. Looking to see what everyone thinks.

By the way .... I know the "Photos" page is odd. I don't know what I was thinking when I put that together. LoL! I do have plans to change it.

    Thanks!

The overall site layout is simple but looks very nice. I know nothing about flash so I don't how difficult it is to put this type of site together. It must be time consuming to update the content as the size is fixed. Nevertheless, it gives a very pleasing uniform look. Well done.

I'm not sure what you mean by odd for the Photos page but I would like to suggest using window focus for the popup. For example, if the Photos page is covered up by some other screens you would not see it if you click on the Photos link again at the Home page.

Thanks for your comments tomw. As for updating it (which I haven't done in a while) it's not too difficult. Each page (Home, Bio, Discography and Links) are seperate Flash files. So Instead of having to deal with the entire site when updating, I can just work with whatever page(s) I need to.

I used some SWiSHmax pop-up generator. The reason I say the Photos page looks odd is because it doesn't go with the rest of the site. I either need to put it into a Flash photo gallery (which I have) or just get rid of those funky backgrounds.

    Thanks again!

I would definitely update the Photos page and use the same layout as the rest of the pages and without popup. If all your thumbnail images don't fit in a single page you could break the page into multiple parts as different albums. You can update each individual page separately if you use a CMS. You do not need to deal with the entire site. As you may know, I'm currently working on CMS so if you are interested I'll be happy to work with you.

The more I look at your site the more I like it. Just one more thing if you don't mind. I would like to see the page bigger. Those texts are hard to read with my old eyes, even with my glasses.

    Hello,
I think the site is to busy, I think you should focus more on the artist, and take some things down or provide more links for the fans instead of having everything crowded together.

First, a disclaimer: I by no means know anything about how to create or edit a web site. The opinions I'll share will be that of just your average American gal.

When I opened the site my initial thought was "is this person a fan who is just doing something nice for someone?" Nothing about it looked professional or "serious" to me.

What's up with the snare "tap" each time you click on a tab or link? She plays a bass guitar, right? If you feel you MUST put something there to indicate a "click" of the mouse, why not a bass strum or chord?

Definitely needs to be larger. Looks like you have too little information on her to create a site, which isn't the case. Makes her appear "small time" rather than "up and coming."

Consider having someone of the "general population" sit down with you and review the site for wording and make suggestions. Just too many things to go over by way of a forum, but as an example: "You've found the one and only Rinat fan site on the net . . . " How about "Welcome to the official fan page of Rinat." Everything after that should be in a different place, perhaps at the bottom?

I personally don't like the star within the circle and the flame above it. I think "country" when I see that particular star for some reason. The flame seems to be more in line with what it apears she is playing. I DO like the "spit stars" you have at the bottom of the opening page. If you're stuck on the star, maybe make flames that circle the star, rather than the black circle. Also, the flames aren't a good color. Maybe make them the same color red as the spit stars.

I expected to hear music I opened the page. You don't want something that's blaring loud and "hard" when the page is opened (give folks a chance to head to the volume button). Consider a bass solo that she has done.

The pics that are under the Photos tab should definitely be larger thumbnails. I think a previous poster said something about having them scroll across the page. Good idea. Maybe even add a link where people can add their own pics of her from a show? But also, several of the pics appear to be blurry and/or copied from somewhere.
And the autographs . . . why are they on there? And the "be jealous!" part? Appears more like you're trying to showcase yourself as being her biggest fan. The site is supposed to showcase her.

Why have 5 pages to her bio? Put all the info on one page for a fan, or potential fan, to read.

I do think the message board linking to the bands she has played with is a nice touch.

Consder having a background on each page of the site of fishnet stockings. Maybe a bass guitar with fishnets wrapped around it.

Hi.... the layout is fine, but I really don't like the font you chose for the headers... They make the site seem old fashioned. I would start by changing the font. Also the website seems too static... Maybe because of the background?
    hope the above helps

One thing that jumps out at me is the "fractured mirror web designs production" at the top of the pages. It distracts from the main purpose of the site which is about the artist.
Personally, I find sounds distracting and a bit annoying on websites, especially if there is no obvious mute button on the page.

Very simple site. I dont mind the layout but I am not feeling the color style. I think a different color scheme could make the site look alot more professional.

Very nice website... I like the colors and the way it is laid out in one area without any scrolling. The only thing I recognize as a little frustrating is the time it takes for the central welcome information to come across. Maybe a little faster or just static to begin with. The only other area of opporutnity is having the pictures within the frame vs. opening a new tab. Might be a browser issue. Overall nice.

I'm not an expert in web design or anything, but a few things I'd suggest would be to add some of her music to the page if you can. I'd also try to make it larger to fill the whole screen, not just the middle.

Ozone, this IMPO was a great review (summed up my thoughts)

Can you put some of the tracks in as demo?

    Hi there

For me the site looks ok, but the annimation/graphics are way too slow. I want to be able to click on Biography and start reading straight away, not have to wait for the logo to build up.

I also dont like the photos only coming up in a pop up, it should all stay on the site page.

These are only my views though.

    Otherwise it's not bad.

    Good Luck!!

    Hi,

Not really sure about the noises when u scroll over the sub headings, bit weird !!

Also the bio would be better on one scrolling page rather than 5/6 tabs to click on.

Nothing really bad about the site, looks like a lot of fan pages out there !!!

    hey,
veeeery pretty looking site, and I think that it you definitely have a solid foundation. I really think that the site should take up more space, it is just to small at the moment. Also, the "photo" link opens a new window, I think simply leading to a new page would be better. Technically, I didn't notice any glitches, though I found it odd every screen had a "loading" screen. But overall really great site, keep up the good work!

I have to agree with HouseHold.. As stated from him/her I am NOT a web/techy person and wouldn't even know where to start to create a site; but this definetly looked like more of a fan page than that of a person who is trying to get their name out to the world.

Overall assestically looking it was nice and very pleasing, but the content and layout did not portray what I think you were intending.
