    Greetings Folks:

    I'm new to this forum and new to web-development. I am working on (with the help of a consultant of course) on a website for a medical device and healthcare consulting company for people of all ages.

    I would appreciate your constructive feedback in improving this website. Please feel free to be as candid as possible. For example, the home page display is not my favorite. So, look forward to ideas and your assistance in making this project a success.

    The website address is Home. Please visit now and visit often.

    PS: The website is designed via Joomla 1.6.

    Kind vibes,
    Madaba!

  2. Nice Site!

    Hi,

    You have a very nice site. Good colours and pretty easy to navigate.

    Like the menu bar on the right on the home page. Why have you changed that for other pages? It was giving a nice feel on the right.

    Also the Home page seems incomplete. This footer is missing from the home page but is present on all other pages.

    Also sometimes before a page loads you get an image of pole with a snake wrapped around it. Doubt that will be reassuring to diabetes patients.

    Apart from that I really like you site. Good job.

    <title>Products</title> (8 characters - Google allows 66 characters including spaces)

    <meta name="description" content="Gluxus' mission is to reduce the global health care burden of diabetes by empowering the growing number of diabetic population to better manage their condition via a simple to use and pain-free diabetes monitor." /> (211 characters - Google allows 150 characters including spaces)

    Note: some of your description will be cut off - you may want to change it some.

    You may want to add some to your title (the word diabetes would be a good one and diabetes monitor)
    -
    You may want to include some pictures of the health equipment to the description.
    -
    I like the menu action but it is normal to have continuity from page to page (in other words have the menu on the same side on all pages)
    -
    hope this helps

    The title of each page should be descriptive and unique. The meta tag Title should also be the top tag. The title should also be in your first H1 heading. Some of your keywords are spelt wrong.

    You don't have an xml or html sitemap, so there is very little Google can do to index your site correctly.

    Hi VersovavillageboySFC:

    Thank you for your kind feedback. The homepage and the sidebar work is in progress. I am having difficulty moving the menu bar on Right side - it misaligns the frame completely. Stay tuned. :)

    PS: The background Symbol is a "Caduces" - a universal medical and medicine symbol. I thought that gave it the "Medical/Health" feel.

    Please visit the site again in couple of weeks and post further feedback.

    Regards,
    Madaba

    Hi Falcon:

    Indeed that is very helpful feedback. I have reduced the meta name to 150 Characters. Thank you for the feedback.

    I am in the final stages of polishing the product pictures. I will add these shortly.

    I am also struggling to keep the menu to the same RH side. There are couple of issues and I hope to resolve these shortly.

    Please visit the site again in a week or two. I would appreciate your further feedback. :)

    Cheers,
    Madaba

    Hi Drachsi:

    Thank you for the feedback. I have generated and added the xml sitemap as well as the robot file to the main file. Please let me know if you are able to see it.

    I have also revised the keywords and made the list extensive. Thanks for pointing this important aspect out.

    For your comment below, please provide a bit more information as to how to fix this or understand it better:

    "The title of each page should be descriptive and unique. The meta tag Title should also be the top tag. The title should also be in your first H1 heading."

    Once again, Thank you for your kind feedback. Please visit again - I appreciate your continued feedback.

    Regards,
    Madaba

    Header reads "Gluxus Healts'. Not sure if its supossed to be 'heals' or 'health' or if im missing something. Also, your logo is cut off by the web banner. On the home page, I can get the menu to scroll up and down, but the home page itself is cut off. As far as the look of the website, it really fits the product/service. Very informative with a clean/professional/sanitary look. Easy to read and understand, good contrast and overall, a great looking website. Good luck!

    First your Title. At the moment it is called "Home" suggest you make it more like your H1 code ie.
    <!DOCTYPE html>
    <head>
    <title>Welcome to Gluxus Health. Professional Diabetic solutions</title> "Something like this you need to create"
    <base href="http://www.gluxus.com/" />
    <meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8" />
    <meta name="robots" content="index, follow" />
    <meta name="keywords" content="Gluxus, diabetes, health, Glucose, Glucometer, Blood meter, Sugar, Blood, Glucose Monitoring, diabetes monitoring, diabetes control, diabetes management, diabetes diagnostics, diabetes meter, diabetes resources, diabetes links, diabetes organizations, famous diabetics, glycemic index, bmi, mmol/l, mg/dl, diabetes conversions, diabetes dictionary, alcohol and diabetes, diabet, շաքարախտ, مرض السكري, дыябет, диабет, diabetis, 糖尿病, 糖尿病, dijabetes, cukrovka, suikerziekte, diabeet, dyabetis, diabète, διαβήτης, dyabèt, סוכרת, मधुमेह, cukorbetegség, sykursýki, diaibéiteas, 糖尿病, дијабетес, دیابت, cukrzyca, диабет, дијабетес, ugonjwa wa kisukari, โรคเบาหวาน, diyabet, bệnh tiểu đường, צוקערקרענק" />
    <meta name="rights" content="Copyright 2010. Gluxus Inc." />
    <meta name="language" content="en-GB" />
    <meta name="description" content="Gluxus' mission is to reduce the global health care burden of diabetes by empowering the growing number of diabetic population to better manage their condition." />
    Your sitemap needs to be in the root directory and I cannot find http://www.gluxus.com/sitemap.xml

    You show your page is in UK English, but you have many other laguages listed in the Keywords. Not a good idea.

    Type into Google gluxus and see what Google shows, this is why you need to change your home page title.

    Note:
    Title is the most important tag for search engines (it needs to describe the page content) you have 66 characters for a name and a brief description.
    Description is the second most important tag. You have 150 characters to describe the page (make it unique)
    The keyword list is for you to remind you of the keywords you used for this page.
    You need to use the same keywords in the body of the page (hopefully within the first 500 words) the more important ones closer to the beginning

    Hi,
    I really like your site. The homepage is very good and welcoming and the colours and pictures go really well together.

    Whilst there doesn't seem to be loads of info on the homepage, there is some great sections at the bottom right which gives links to lots of different diabetes organizations, and there's even a link to a list of famous people who have/had diabetes such as Halle Berry and the King himself, Elvis (uhuh) Presley.

    I feel the less info on the homepage the better and you've definately managed that. You've got some great links and sub-headers which would give anyone enough to go on though.

    Well done on a fantastic website,
    Luke :)

    Check post #3
    <title>Home</title>
    Home is not a correct title or subject for your site
    You are not a realestate site
    You are a "healthcare" site about diabetes and medical devices.
    That is what you want to convey in your title.
    The keywords you use in your title is to attract people
    interested in Health care about diabetes and why your device
    is important to them. This should be covered in your title and
    description.

    Hi, not done many reviews but what i can say on first viewing is your website is looking very good to start with. Your home page has good use of colours and the pictures are very good in the way that they are friendly and welcoming. I see some reviews about your side bar so i won't say too much just i agree that it looks out of place on the right hand side. Also about your footer being missing on the home page but again i see people have mentioned this.

    I have just seen when you hover over pictures the box pops up, this is good but it jumps up really fast but i think this is good. The font in your blue boxes is different i think to the font on the rest of the home page? I would try stick to the same font but then again it is each to there own opinion :)

    Clicked on a few more links and again very good use of pictures throughout, no pop ups which was good and good use of information.

    Very good website if you ask me just needs tinkering with :)

    When I first opened the site i thought I opened a pdf file. It is unique I'll give it that, but it takes some time getting used to. Why did you choose to go with a right navbar instead of left? Other than that the site's layout looks pretty good.

    I see some folks like the right-hand navigation, others don't. Personally, I like it. I'm a bit perplexed as to why you change it to be on the left on the other pages. Also, home page has nice colors. Curious as to why none of the other pages do not have the same coloring.
    One other thing I noticed - on the locations page, it has Canada on top and then the U.S. below that. Perhaps consider making two columns - Canada on one side, US on the other. This would help a user to immediate realize that you are privy to Canadian info, as well as U.S. info.

    The set up of the website is good. The colors contrast well and really stand out. I also thought the site was easy to navigate. The one thing I didn't like about the home page was the sidebar on the right. Not sure if that is only there while the site is under construction, but it just seems like it makes the home page cramped. Also on the home page, the words that are highlighted show links. Don't know if it was just me, but it looked to me like I was accidentally dragging the cursor around. I might find a different way to show the links. Perhaps bold or italicize them.
