Makes me wonder what it would be like to be across the pond during this time, seeing how the whole world seems fixed on this event.
Not a day goes by in the news when all the experts are out show and telling about that point on the planet as to what's going to happen, the history, videos of all those palaces and churches.
People here in the States are going a tad over board, with crazy hats, organizing parties around the tube and they are not even Brits.

Imagine it would be heck living or working where the great event is to happen.

So what's it like - has it affected your life in anyway?

Mr Ish, does not affect me in the slightest...As on friday we are off on a football tour for my sons team....bring it on!!!!

Yes its on the news, and there are peeps holding street parties etc, reason I think it's a big deal is that it is Di's son, I mean Charles and ugly bird hardly got a mention over here (thanks BBC)

I am in the same frame of mind as forest the only good thing about the wedding is I get a long weekend from work.
I am just back from Holland with my under 14's team at a tournament. You get to see why their country is so better at football than mine, the set up they have over their for there local clubs is top-notch.

See crazy country for football gets Friday off due to a wedding and to think over here we have a President running our country into the ground helping more people to stay home and not being able to work.

    "(thanks BBC)"
They all came here - trust me in the past 5 years you can not watch a TV station or cable channel without someone sounding British.

Don't get this though We keep hearing the Prince future King.
Did his father get excommunicated from the Queen?

Ok so some things haven't changed the subjects of every country are poor but told, we are happy (got to believe them when they tell you).
Who cares if business can afford to be without one days profit.

What the heck are the royal family in-charge of.
Can they say make royal decrees and overturn a decision of parliament.
What's their job - if they have one.

The Queen still can 'Pardon' any court judgement
She can also declare war without any involvement from anyone, a law still enforce since King Harold.
Job yes I think they do, heads of Charities being the main and just the face of the Commonwealth as a whole, endless if you think about it???

    Interesting - Thanks
(the war part - bit scary)
World News has been on and talking Wedding.
Still really something to see the inside of those Majestic Buildings, the architecture, adornments, royal jewels, history. The craftsmanship is just beyond the what the mind can take in at one time, you guys should be proud of the country you live in.

Buck palace grand place, used to be Buck house until George III basicly stole it for the missus, the history is a real eye opener!!! (check it out)

Agreed Ish there are sooo many Palaces, Castles and Stately Homes for us Brits to admire, shame sooooo many were destroyed, and there were many, est 6568 more should still be standing (wiki fact again)

History is good to read about, I did a history degree, my main topic was Blenhiem Palace (birth place of a certain Winston Churchill) now that IS good reading on how that was built, changed hands etc

    Bye Guys
Power has been flickering - Several Tornadoes in the last few days pounding the country.
Looks like 3 hit next door in the state of Alabama one flatten half the city, which means the storm is heading our way. Neat thing to see, bad to be in one.

You take care there Dave me boy!

Meanwhile, back to the royalty thing...
How come Liz didn't grant us Commonwealther's a the day off? Not that it makes any difference to us that are self-employed.
We've just had 4 days off for Easter then another day off for Anzac Day on the 25th. Apparently there's a bank holiday comong up this Monday.
Phew!! Glad we don't have employed staff to pay!!

As for "The Wedding", I doubt many are truely interested in it. (I know we're not)
IMHO It's the blasted media who think we are, or should be fascinated by every move the Royal's make.

If there's nothing on tele Friday evening, we'll be watching our Dr Who dvds. Prince Willy aint a patch on David Tennant!!!
    :D

I'm up in Shetland, which is the Northern-most Island in the British Isles and unfortunately, we are not even getting a day off!! I think all local authorities had a decision as to take it or not in Scotland and it was decided it would be work as usual for us!! C'est la Vie!!
