Thanks hamo. Is there anything I can do to make it better in term of loading stuff? Any good script or plugin?

 

Thanks guys. I really want to make it easy for the visitor to search for free stuff but frankly speaking I have problem to categorize them, that's why you will see the "others" category there. So, I decide to load up the google search engine which they can use to search and at the same time I can make some money too.

 

Lol. I change the background to a cardboard image and I don't know why. Thanks for your input.

DataBases ... Design & Photo ... AntiVirus, AntiSpyware
Spreadsheets ... Utilities & Drivers ... Network Tools

or similar. Listing under categories helps organize them and makes it easier
for visitors to find what they are looking for.
If you get a lot, then you can add subcategories also.

From a non-technical savvy person that loves freebies and coupons I like the idea of your site but initially found it confusing because there is so much going on and so many menus/dropdowns/categories, etc. I understand that you probably want to stick out and be different from smilar sites but I think organizing your site a little better would help by that I mean think moving your google search up to just under the ad banner then move your subscription box up to give you some more room on the right I would also move your category drop down up or just flat out clearly list all categories at the top for a quick read. Maybe move the archives drop down the the bottom and move the "Online freebies" section to where it is now. Great start overall! Hope this helps!

 

On your freebees for software, you may want to list under PC or MAC
Most people will be interested in one or the other, not both

On your menu bar below Boundless Freebees
I would suggest a drop down menu to list the categories
Such as (Web Design Tools) use the free one, it is the one I use and gives good results. Try a page from my site:
Geometry Tutorials, math, lesson, calculator, detailled answers
noteYou can check the source code for information
In the source code, click on "menu.css" for the menu css code)
In the Geometry web page mouse over the menu and see the drop down
You can choose the size and colors and you can implement it into your present website without problems. It is CSS so you can use external CSS.

This will save the visitor one step and make it a better navigation.

Be sure to categorize the topic for the dropdown

People want to find what they want as effortless as possible

I like it and the colours used are good but the site is a little plain IMO, the content is good and the site is very simple to use.

 

If you can, use CSS instead of Java Script. It loads faster, is not turned off and usually duplicates what Java Script does.
I used Java Script for dropdown menus but changed to CSS. Acts the same but loads faster and is incorporated in an external CSS file. Make a Google search for CSS dropdown menus, slideshows, etc. This should help you decide on issues which you believe will slow down the site load time.

The dropdown menu will help you categorize the site
For free software category you may try something like this

(this should give you some freeware to consider)
To increase traffic you may want visitors to rate them, also you may want to place your
comments on how it worked for you, or add a screenshot, something to define one from
another, why one is better for you than a similar free program. The comments help a
visitor decide why to use the software, also a short review.
