I'm new at this web stuff. I have great ideas and need help making them happen with little or no money to invest. I just have a moderate amount of time and a willingness to learn. Please be patient with me.

My great idea is for a page on my site that allows a visitors who have registerd to upload a certain number of pictures. Is there a template out there for this? I searched many places including this site but maybe I just don't know what to call it. I put a post in the Flash section of this Forum but I'm not sure if that's where it should go. My terminology is still in it's infancy. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like tomw will do whatever needed to make them happen.
Now that is what I call a welcome wouldn't you say Grafin Lupus.
Believe me tomw is good at programming so you will be in Great Hands.
Welcome to our little corner of the world where time and a willingness is all it takes.

Lets replace tomw with fwt. I do what I can, so far very little. You, CP, GG, Cynthia, unhallowedangel, Forest, and others have done lots more and will, no doubt, continue to do so. You guys have made this forum what it is – an active and vibrant community for web designs, logos, templates, and everything else you want to share.

Lupus, I'm currently developing a CMS that might able to do you need. Sign up as a member here if you are interested.

Grafin Lupus - It takes the talents of all our members and the proper tools to perform any task. In many instances there can be multiple approaches to a problem, dependent on your level of expertise or the amount of time and labor you wish to invest.
tomw - CMS (content management system) in your case would be a perfect match for what you are trying to achieve.
At the least it would be a minimal investment on your part in terms of time based on your stated knowledge.
Is there a template out there for this?
The Template controls the overall look and layout of your site. It provides the framework that brings together common elements (what people see when viewing your site)
My great idea is for a page on my site that allows a visitors who have registered to upload a certain number of pictures.
A content management system (CMS) is the collection of procedures used to manage work flow in a collaborative environment. CMS not only fulfills the Template requirement, it also provides you with the back-end controls necessary to perform what you require.

In order to make improvement to the system I definitely need others to participate in the development. Someone once said "alone we can do so little; together we can do much more." The end result will benefit both party and anyone who has a similar need later on. However, we might not able to quickly produce an exact outcome you envisioned; time maybe requires finding the solution or a work around. Expectation of perfection will only result in failure.

May I suggest Memnber enigma1 he also has developed a CMS and I have followed his posts here and elsewhere, his programming is beyond approach.
So Grafin Lupus see if you can get these two to assist you. If they do assist, offer to put up a link and some gracious words on your site to help promote them.

Geoff Tyrer also has a very nice system that you might want to try out.

Thank you for the info about the CMS. After learning what that is I think it is not what I am trying to do. I certainly don't feel qualified to be of any value to your project just yet. Give me a while and I will gladly contribute if I have anything useful.

Maybe you should look at enigma1 profile send him a pm and his website here.
He has posed his software as open source for your use or use his services.

Here is some of what is listed on his site
"The website part of the framework consists of very few files easy to understand and use even for people with little programming knowledge."
Now that is worth a look.

You require a main page and secure areas for your members. A CMS program can do that with you only learning that program otherwise you are going to have to learn html, css, php, and some server language.

    Just my thoughts

I tried to register at enigma1's web site and it doesn't like my email address. This just isn't my day.

Thanks to all. I have a lot of reading and experimenting to do for a while now. I'll let you know of my success or failure.

You are certainly qualified to be of value to my project. odCMS is still under development so by us working together to build a site with the features you have in mind will add value to the system that others might find useful.
