Everyone loves a little SEO - it's good for the soul! ;)

Unless you're new to SEO, you already know placing keywords and keyword phrases in your website's content, headings, titles, menus, etc. are a great way to help your search engine optimization.

The question is, how many times should you repeat a keyword or keyword phrase? Does repeating the keyword 10 times rank your page better than if you repeat it only twice on your page?

The true answer is, no one is sure. Our buddy Matt Cutts (the head guy over at Google Search) keeps the Google search algorithm a secret. But what we do know is keywords and phrases do matter.

So here's what you can do to cover your butt.

Let's say our keyword phrase is "WordPress Web Hosting" (Yes, I use this example because that's what my company provides and this keyword phrase and I are old pals!).

Ideally then we'd want WordPress Web Hosting to appear in our web page's title, header tags, in the menu, in the body text (especially near the top) and perhaps in the last paragraph. The trick then is go ahead and insert your keyword into your content and headers as many times as you can until it reads silly.

Remember, write your content for humans, not Googlebot.

Then read your content out loud. If all the keywords sound silly, remove some, or to think of it another way, insert your keywords, read it out loud and if it doesn't sound bad, add some more. Keep doing this until your content sounds stupid, then back it off some.

Ok, the school bell has rung and you're free to go. :)

That's right. Anyway if you are doing this it is a good idea to check the keyword density when the page is finished. Because it may happen the density become very high.

Most marketers advise to use 3 - 6% keyword density.

Keyword density is the percentage of times a keyword or phrase appears on a web page compared to the total number of words on the page. In the context of search engine optimization keyword density can be used as a factor in determining whether a web page is relevant to a specified keyword or keyword phrase.

We can use some keyword density analysis tool, view the keyword density analysis of that page over any type of blogging or websites. The Keyword Density Analysis Tool returns a detailed report on the text content of the page. The report generated by the different keyword density analyzer tool includes:
    • Number of total words on the page
    • Number of linked words
    • Number of non-linked words
    • Number of stop words or very short words used in the non-linked text

To calculate Keyword density = (total no.of. keywords/total no.of article words)*100. If you follow good Keyword density, your seo will work better than before.

We can say that keyword density is some times useful to get rankings, but these rankings will be no longer. Keyword density is nothing but the percentage of particular keywords appears in the webpage or website compare with all keywords on the webpage..

Keyword density is a calculated percentage based on the number of times a word or phrase is used, compared to the overall word count for that page.Without the right keywords, your SEO structure has no foundation and will get you nowhere

Keyword density is an x-factor in SEO based content writing. Usually writers use a maximum of 6% keyword density in every page. But if you exceeds that limit it will adversely affect your Ranking factor in Google searches. So try to check your page's content after its construction.

Keyword density can make or break your business, so better to get updated with new algorithmic changes inculcated by the search engines, in the present times Google ranks high when you use the keyword density in the level of 3 to 5%. and make sure that chosen keyword is most by the users and relevant to your website.
