Hi, im Danny Player/assistant manager of AFC Clayton.
I have been looking online for any help on designing a club badge. It was unfortunately left to me to design a badge. I am however useless at doing stuff like this. I have been trying to desgign a badge for all of a month know, only on paper as doodles though. I didnt take art at school :) i am really struggling, would one of you be as kind to help me here?

here is the answer to your questions

    1) What is your website address (ex: http://site.com ; Site Name)?
http://www.clubwebsite.co.uk/afcclayton/ you can see me in the goalkeeper top in the middle of the team photo :)

    2) Description of your website:
We use it for fixtures and results with player rating and goals scored etc.
    3) List 3 logo designs you really like & why:
I like Juventus's badge, its simple yet effective.
    4) Requested size of your logo: not sure on the size to be honest, i guess normal football club size.
    5) Do you have any images/photos that can be used for the logo ( only copyright free ones )?
we have our sponsors image. (see attached) we would like the round/ball shape to be in the logo. so i was thinking similar to Juventus but instead of the horse. the sponsors logo/ball thing. And AFC Clayton as the writing.
    6) Any colors you prefer
Black and blue, inter milan colours.

If anyone can help me design it i would be most grateful.
    Thanks

Do you mean that part that looks like a button with three holes?
If you haven't done so yet, check with your sponsor first for permission to use it. Don't want to go ahead and find you'll have to scrap your new logo! ;)
I do like that Juventus one. Nice clean lines.

hi Covertpea, I have been looking at some designs you have done for other football teams. I must say they are fantastic!! What program do you usually use?

Yes, its the round one that looks like a button with three holes. Yes, the sponsors are good friends of mine and are part of the football team also. They requested that to be on the club emblem. :)

yup, the juventus badge is great....so,so simple but really stand out-ish...if you get my meaning :)

    cheers,
fellow aussie Danny (i was born in Adelaide) :)

    Okay Danny. :)
Visited Adelaide a few times in my younger days. Such a beautiful place.
I was originally a Sydney-ite but did the 'tree-change' thing about 16 years ago and now my nearest neighbours are koalas, possums and 'roos. :D

As for the graphics on here, most of the stuff I do is in either Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop.

Give me a day or so to get something together.
    Cheers
    CP

aggghhh, i cant get off this website!! the stuff you guys do on here is incredible!
    Especially the logo's.
Ok, i want to get into it myself. Do you recommend PSP or PS for me to have a go of? and is there like an old version you can download with like 30 days free trial to see if i can get the hang of it?

    Good for you!!
Here's a link to the Older Versions site. http://www.oldversion.com/program.php?n=psp

They have PSP versions 2.0 through to 9.0 for download.
These are the usual trial versions of which last 30 days (but actually keep working for a total of 60 days)
You can always download a copy of Photoshop (huge file! huge price!) but I'd suggest you start on PSP as the learning curve is SO MUCH easier.

I have versions 7.04, 8 and a 9 trial but have always gone back to my trusty 7.04 for it's simplicity and familiarisation.
Google "Paint Shop Pro 7 beginner tutorials" (or whatever version you get) and dive right in!
Perseverance is the key, don't give up and you'll be glad you kept at it!

    Oh yeah, almost forgot..
Here's your logo, let me know if there's something that needs changing.

firstly, that logo is exactly what i was after. Thank you very much covertpea, i see you have a knack for football badges :) there is just one thing though, the horizontal lines either sides of the AFC Clayton are not symetrical. sorry to be a pain but is it possible for you to make them so? Could you host the finished version for me please? Again, a huge thank you from me and all in AFC Clayton

Ok, so start with PSP and you advise version 7.04 to start on. Excellent, i shall download a copy at the weekend and start learning in the week (busy weekend). I will be in and out of this forum alot now checking out peoples designs. Its a great place and a nice community from what i can tell.
Do you think 30 days is enough to actually get into it and see results?

    Thanks CP :)

This is about as symmetrical as you'll get without losing most of the blue.

Re: PSP- You get 60 days all up. Plenty of time to learn the basics if you're keen enough to stick with it.
Even after that time, you should still be able to buy v.7 on E-bay for around $20 or less.

`We are a Scottish club, and would hope some sort of Scottish element will be incorporated in the new crest," he said. ``There is a question mark over the two or three different logos currently being used for different purposes and we are looking for one which will fairly depict Celtic Football Club. ``There are two or three being considered at the moment, although we haven't yet reached a final decision. We would like a Scottish/Irish image, because we are very proud of our history, and I don't see us moving far away from our traditions."
