Hi there all, I was wondering if someone could help me out with a logo for my new business? I really am lacking in any artistic ability and devoid of imagination!

I have answered the logo questions below:

What is the exact name you would like in your logo?
Walkies of Headington (I know this is a lot of text for a logo, maybe just Walkies and I could use the web address under the logo to identify us as in Headington, I’m open to suggestions, does it need text?)

    2) What is your website address (ex: http:/site .com/; Site Name)?

http:/www.walkiesheadington.co.uk (not there yet, long story!!!)

    3) Description of your website or business:

I have used the ‘Dogs Palace’ free template. http://www.freewebsitetemplates.com/preview/dogstemplate/
I am just starting the business and it’s a dog walking service, Ill be doing group and individual walks for dogs. I live in Oxford UK and will be walking dogs in the countryside, (not pounding the pavements) so I guess no skyscrapers of traffic jams on the logo :D

    4) Have you found any logos/designs on the web that you feel convey the style you are looking for?

No not really, Id like something bold, modern, fairly simple. I quite like the ‘Dogs Palace’ banner, although that may just be reflecting my total lack of imagination!

I like this because its bold, simple, links the business with dogs (although this is not a must) I think the 'banner' shape would look good across the back of a t-shirt or across the tailgate of my truck, but really Im open to any suggestion.

I don’t like this because it’s a little boring, maybe the banner background could be the ‘Dreaming Spires’ of Oxford outline, the logo does not need to be rectangular. One colour….a little ‘safe’?

(ok, I put a link there and an image, I cant see them, dont know if anyone else can....thats why I need help, clueless!!!!!)

    5) Requested size of your logo:
Hmmmm, not sure. I would like to use it on my website/flyers/business cards and I’m going to have it printed on to hoodies, t-shirts etc for when Im out working. Could have it on my pickup truck.

    6) Do you have any images/photos that can be used for the logo? (must be copyright free)
    No

    7) What logo styles do you like (text only, image only, text and image, etc.)?
    Open to suggestions

    8) What colors do you want to see in your logo?
The website is greys, and I would like it to blend/compliment those colours, sort of earthy/neutral. Im thinking of having my branded clothing in light grey, you know the grey marl of tracksuits? So the logo will need to stand out from that or have a dark/light border??

    9) What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo?
    Pink! Anything bright/in your face/girlie.

    10) Describe the target audience for your logo
Dog owners…..all walks of life, busy professionals, animal lovers.

    11) What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
    Professionalism, brand identity, no fuss.

    12) Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?
Web, business cards, hoodies/t-shirts, possibly on the side/back of my truck.

    13) Do you have other info or links you want to share?
    No

    14) Finally we need is there a style font you prefer, please let us know.

The web template is in Verdana I think, I don’t know much about fonts but it would be good if it were a commonly used one, so that when I go to get the website address printed underneath the logo on hoodies the print shop wont have a problem with matching/complementing any font on the logo.

Your help is much appreciated and my website would be a total non-starter without the help from members of this forum, thanks :D

    Alex

    Hi Alex,

The link you inserted " [IMG]" will not work because it is a local file on your PC. You will have to upload it to somewhere like tinypic.com and get the URL from them :)

Since you are the only one who can see your shades of gray - this is not the time for someone here to try to envision what your site will look like and attempt a logo. Don't you think so.
