Legacy Rock/Metal band logo

Hi people! Just happened to stumble across this site and was wondering if I could get some help.
My band's name is Cryptic Messages and we've been together 5 years without a logo. It's getting pretty annoying as our original designer procrastinates and procrastinates haha!

If anyone could help us, please! Our theme is dark, doom, melancholy and heavy. We also share some resemblance to bands like Metallica, Solstice, Shinedown, Solitude Aeturnus and other various 80's - Present doom, thrash and rock bands. I don't know if this helps. I'm no design artist at all! But any help would be much appreciated! Thank you so much in advanced!!

You need to fill in one of the design forms they ask for in the first 2 threads of this forum. With that and some helpful tips on other pages these guys seem pretty willing to help!

"Cryptic Messages" is the name we need on the logo and there is no preference on alignment or placing of it.

This is a logo for a band who plays rock and metal.

4) Search the Internet for any logos/designs on the web that you feel convey
the style you are looking for?
We're sort of going for a dead nature feel. Vines wrapped around the text or something. I've searched all over the net, but haven't found a design I like. Something similar to The Rasmus' logo only more "dark and deathly". Also with a Pagan symbol behind the lettering. Like a 'Key of Solomon' or something.

No size preference. Will discuss after seeing a draft

6) Do you have any images/photos that can be used for the logo? (must be copyright free)

Text only or Text and Image.

8) What colors do you want to see in your logo?
Black, red... Dark and unnatural, really

9) What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo?
N/A.

10) Describe the target audience for your logo
This is for a band so the audience will be the audience of the band.

11) What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
We can create angry music with positive attitude. Our lyrical content is dark. Our music is heavy.

12) Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?
Logo will be used for print and website.

13) Do you have other info or links you want to share?
N/A.

14) Finally we need is there a style font you prefer, please let us know.
We would like our own font, really. Something that hasn't been seen as we want our name to be the logo.

 

They prefer if you try and help any other posts in anyway you can too. I suggest seeing if there is any advice you can make on any other threads.
