Legacy Request for Netball Club Logo - Please!?

Hi,

I'm Mark. Having three daughters, all of whom play netball for our local club - Ashbourne Netball Club (based in Ashbourne, Derbyshire, UK) I've been roped into the management of the club. One specific task is to put a website together for them. Bit of a novice at it to say the least but 'know a man who does' this kind of thing for a living. Getting there slowly but surely. However one thing the club haven't got is a logo - hence this post. Please could I ask for your help?

The club has been going for just under a year - 6 teams, 2 x High 5(U11 Mixed), U 12, U14, U16 & U18. Maybe adding a senior section later in 2009/10. Members come from Ashbourne and surrounding villages, always looking for new players, coaches, umpires, volunteers etc. Very good start considering they are so new but it would be great to create an identity / brand if you like for the club. That's where the logo comes in. It will also feature on all our match / training kit at some point in the future.

The website isn't live yet - we just have a holding page - www.ashbournenetballclub.co.uk . The site will provide an introduction to the club, list the teams and club structure, provide information regards training, matches, results, tournaments etc and have a gallery of photos (maybe videos later). As mentioned above recruitment is an output we are hoping for so we need a professional looking identity.

The club colours are black (base colour) and gold. The website, where I want to put the logo will have a black background.

Attached are a couple of logos which I have seen that I feel would work:

1. With regard to the 'Hong Kong' logo - think this looks clean, relevant and looks quite dynamic in a reserved kind of way - basically professional. I was thinking of course changing the text to 'Ashbourne Netball Club' in gold, maybe having the panels of the ball in white, with the small flashes either side of the ball gold again as opposed to red.

2. With regard to the 'Copenhagen' logo - again, looks professional, clean, more traditional and with the ball going into the net representative of the game. Was thinking black fill, text, section lines (including outer line) and central graphic all in gold.

I need to take a couple of logo designs to the club and get some feedback but feel confident they will like this kind of thing.

I know its a big ask but if possible, any chance you could mock these two logo options up for me? Really be very very appreciated!!!!!!!

Like it! - thanks ever so much. Be great if you could still mock up the other two as well please and be as creative with them as you like! I think that will give them a good selection of options.

Hi CP,

As the title says please don't bother with the other logo options. I emailed your first stab to the club committee and guess what? They all loved it! Thankyou so much!

Couple of requests:

1. Could you possibly email me a high res version? My email address is mark.wardashbourne9@btinternet.com.

2. Could you possibly do the same logo but for a white background? Guess it may involve altering colours/maybe have a border round some of the graphics?

Once again thanks for all your help! Just need to find someone who can do a banner for the top of the site now! Should be getting some photos for it next week.
