Legacy Request for a Photography home-based business logo (thanks in advance!)

Hi,

I’m a bit new to this site (already did the new to forum post), but was recommended to it by a friend of mine. Here’s the thing – I have a photography business. It’s not brand new, but I am just starting to get some “regulars” and other clients. I would like to market myself and my business more, and I would really love to have a logo for it. I would be using the logo for use on my website, business cards, mail outs, coupons and whatever else. Most importantly, I’ll be using it along with my copyright on my digital prints, that I feature for “sneak-peeks” on Facebook, twitter, and my blog.

I pay for this website, and took me about a month to get it looking the way I wanted it to look – I go for the lowest price per month (less pictures), just to keep everything low cost, until I (hopefully) get more business.

I don’t have any favorite logos, but I do like the look of some of the logos that are done by jenn (designbyjenn.com). I would need something with the resolution sizes to vary, as I want to use the logo for various things in the future. I don’t have any specific images, or designs in mind. But me as a person, I’m a very fun, quirky, bubbly person – both inside and outside my business = so something with flair might be suggested. As far as color goes – I like bright, fun colors. I don’t have a specific color palette for my business, as some do. I have thought for in the future, something along the lines of hot pink & black.

I am based out of Waterloo, Iowa, and my focus is on weddings/special occasions, portraits, wall art and business prints.

I am looking for something sleek/elegant, yet fun (to match my personality)!

3) Description of your website or business:
This is my photography website – I started off taking pictures for free about 10 years ago (freelancer?), and in 2009, I made my dream a reality by opening up for business. I specialize in portraits, weddings/special occasions, wall art and use for businesses.

4) Search the Internet for any logos/designs on the web that you feel convey the style you are looking for?
I like the look of logos done “by jenn” (designbyjenn.com).
I love Polka Dots (I will be incorporating this into my photography STUDIO/storefront, which will be opening up for business in a year from now)

5) Requested size of your logo:
I need low and high resolution – due that I’ll be using the logo both on my website, as well as printed materials.


6) Do you have any images/photos that can be used for the logo? (must be copyright free)
I don’t have any specific images - - but as stated above, I do really love polka dots and swirlys!

7) What logo styles do you like (text only, image only, text and image, etc.)?
Since it sounds impossible to find an image, as the above question stated, it might be better to go with Text only (with some extra effects), though, if it’s possible, I would like to have a Text & Image. And I’m not set on polka dots – it’s just something I really enjoy. I’m open to any/all ideas!

8) What colors do you want to see in your logo?
At this moment, I’m open to just black/white – though in the future, I’m thinking of the color combination: white, black and hot pink

9) What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo?
I guess if I were going to be picky, I’d say to stay away from orange, forest green (Kelley green & brighter colored (fun) greens are okay), royal blue…I’m not too picky, am I?

10) Describe the target audience for your logo
I want to attract more clients for wedding and celebrations, senior pictures, and family portraits. Eye-catching, elegant yet fun! I wouldn’t mind something colorful!

11) What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
Classy, Fun and Affordable – targeted to attract families, brides and high school seniors.

12) Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?
The logo will be used (mainly for now, but will change in the future) on my website, business cards, coupons, mailouts, and in addition to my copyright on “sneak peek” images used on websites such as Facebook, twitter, and blog pages. In the future I would like to use this on advertising materials, including but not limited to: t-shirts, pens, stationery, postcards, vendor booth items, booklets, baseball caps, magnets, etc.

13) Do you have other info or links you want to share?
Not that I can think of

14) Finally we need is there a style font you prefer, please let us know.
Okay, I’ve narrowed it down to 5 – too hard to chose just one! My top 3 choices are:

1) Queretarotaro
2) Luna Bar
3) Jellyka CuttyCupcakes

Followed by my two favorite “Script” writing styles:
4) Honey Script
5) BlackJack

will do! out of commission with internet until they get it set up on the 11th - currently using work pc, that has no photoshop for me to work with! feeling lost without my computer at home w/internet connection!

 

You don't necessarily have to help with designing else this thread would have been pointless lol

A few ideas have been mentioned in my last post as to where you can help and don't forget this part of the post:

Okay, I’ve narrowed it down to 4 – too hard to chose just one! My top 3 choices are:

1) Queretarotaro
2) Luna Bar
3) Jellyka CuttyCupcakes
