    "Am I missing something?"
    yes you are.
The templates are 1 page as you have found out since downloading it, they are not full complete templates. They only show one view as to what can be done.
"scrolling slide show" would require a JavaScript of your choice to function.

Being you are a graphic artist look at this way -
The css file is like a transparent overlay or a floor plan as to the layout of your web page.
The html file is the instructions your browser reads to display your page and content.
To make it scroll you need another tool.

You may even use php for your contact page or even a database for some use, all are just tools to create your website.

I'm currently developing a CMS called odCMS. The main feature of this CMS is the ease of using designs for the page layout. The process of creating a site is not difficult. I just added a site into this demo to show you an example.

very nice!..now if you could look at the template I Dl'ed and figure a way to make the pics scroll... lol... I can do graphics..this kinda stuff is well beyond me!

I would really like the site to remain exactly like the template is set up!..using the same tile and buttons that they intended

Hey Sis, I think it's best for you to install odCMS into your site to move this forward. This way I can make the changes you want just for your site. Go to this site for the instruction. Give me the link to your site once you got odCMS installed. Email me the link if you don't want to make it public. You can also post it here.

I was showing her how it can be done by using examples, and since I want to promote my project at the same time so I use odCMS. The codes were within those examples. Next time I'll list the codes along with the link to the examples if needed. I will try not to say a CMS is the answer to the problems even though it is. Thanks for the advice.
