Legacy Online Portfolio Logo Request

Hey guys,

I just registered on your website after a friend of mine recommended it for a logo design. This forum fits my interests SO much! I'm really looking forward to be a part of the community and help the way I can!

Anyways, this is not an introduction section so let's get down to business.

I own this website: Sp34k's Portfolio - as you can see, it's my online portfolio with a various collection of digital images.

My problem is that I don't have a logo, I always tend to use "Sp34k", but that ain't much of a logo now is it?
I personally aren't able to create logo's, I'm not good at working with so small sizes, I'm better with larger images so I hope one of you guys can help me out.

1) What is the exact name you would like in your logo?
- Sp34k

2) What is your website address (ex: http:/site .com/; Site Name)?
- Sp34k's Portfolio

3) Description of your website or business:
- My website is a personal portfolio with a collection of my digital images, there will soon be a "Download" page from where you will be able to download almost ALL my images (source files) for free. So, its a personal portfolio and a download/resource-website I guess?

Search the Internet for any logos/designs on the web that you feel convey the style you are looking for?

You can see a human-shape integrated in the text. I would like (not the exact some thing) but something illustrating either a personal speaking, yelling, with a open mouth, closed mouth, just something that has to do with "Speaking" (my name is Sp34k afterall) - so, something to do with communicating.

I'm struggeling finding any other idéas/inspiration sources. Please do feel free to ask if you are unsecure about what I really want.

5) Requested size of your logo:
- The size does not really matter just at long as it's horizontal, I can always scale it down.

6) Do you have any images/photos that can be used for the logo? (must be copyright free)
- No I don't, I prefer to have a "clean" logo, though the guy I mentioned above in the animation could be a "picture", but as I said, I don't know exactly how to illustrate "communicating" / "Speaking".

7) What logo styles do you like (text only, image only, text and image, etc.)?
- Text only (as the animation), clean and minimalistic. For the color, I prefer white or black but feel free to play around with it.

10) Describe the target audience for your logo
- Honestly, I don't know.. I guess it's from any age, it's a portfolio so theres no "adult content" or anything that attracts a specific audience

11) What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
- 1. Creativity
- 2. Communication
- 3. Good taste. - I know that's an odd thing to say but I would like my logo to symbolise a good taste combined with my "what logo style do you like", which is minimalistic.

12) Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?
- It will be used for my website.

14) Finally we need is there a style font you prefer, please let us know.
- Well it can be something smilar to the one on Sp34k's Portfolio or, something like rajan Pro. (Classic, stylish, beautiful!).

Now, I'll check out the rest of the forum and see if theres anything I can provide help with. (beside logo-designing huh!).

First of, let me thank both of you for taking time out of your schedule to help me out here (+1).

Both of your idéas are inspiring, but I was more looking for something like 1970forest made with the text "Sp34k" and something sticking up from one of the letters/numbers, just like in the animation I mentioned in my first post.

I would probably combine both of your idéas somehow with "Sp34k" and a guy yelling or something positioned where the current microphone is.
To me, it reminds me more of a record-label or a DJ with the microphone.

 

That first one is perfect if the font could be changed to something like the Aaargh font (Aaargh Font | dafont.com), like on my website: Sp34ks Portfolio

If that's possible, I will be more than just excited!
