    Hello everyone

My Name is Justin and I'm a member of the Board of Directors for an organization called PowerNet of Dayton. Welcome to PowerNet of Dayton -Montgomery County Ohio's Leading Reentry Organization

We are a 501c3 non-profit organization that helps ex-offenders return to their communities as productive members of society so that they are not a burden nor a danger to the community as a whole.

The long and short of the story is that we are in dire need of help. We have no one on our staff who is capable of doing website design and logo work, but we need to have a recognizable brand in the community. Being the youngest member of the board and somewhat tech knowledgable I have been tasked with accomplishing this seemingly monumental task.

My plan is to wipe out the old website and install the charitible trust website template found here on free website templates.

What I need is a logo design that is modern, distinctive and translatable to letterhead, polo shirt and all other things that we would need to keep the organization running. The plan is to use the logo, and the associated colors on all our marketing materials and pretty much everything else.

I cannot pay, as honestly we are on a shoestring budget with re-imbursable grants that take 60-90 days to pay us back, but I can offer a letter of recommendation/thanks, and of course link back to your website and your name included in our brochures and such.

If you would like to discuss it more you can either PM me here or send me an email.

    Thanks,

    Justin

    Now this one tickles me.
Do you barter to get the printing done on all those things to keep the organization running?
Sorry but the world has gone to heck and this just struck me as funny.
I know you offered "offer a letter of recommendation/thanks, and of course link back to your website and your name included in our brochures and such."
It's just tickled my funny bone.
I know one of the Graphics people will help you.

I removed your duplicate post as forums do not allow double posting.

I'm not sure what it is you have an issue with? Should I go someplace else for help if you have issue with my request for my organization?

    There's no problem Justin.
Ishkey just has an odd sense of humour at times. Also, like most of the Mods on this forum, he's a tad over-worked. :)
I'm sure he meant no dis-respect.

The charitible trust website template is a good choice. To help us get a header/logo together for you can you give us some idea of what you're looking for?
    Pictures plus text? Text alone?
Are there any online site's logo that appeal to you?

It would be to both our advantage if you could answer to simple questions on this thread.
PLEASE READ BEFORE REQUESTING A LOGO

    Cheers

I saw that, and to be honest the only question I could answer is the website, which I gave in my original post.

I have no other ideas or insperations for the logo design, because as you can guess, not many other organizations exist that do what we do.

Maybe something similar to this circle of people? I don't know honestly. I have no graphic skills at all, so I'm bowing to your expertise!

All I know is that as an organization we want something clean, modern and fresh. PowerNet somewhere on the logo would be nice, but not necessary. Has to look good on a polo shirt, as well as a letterhead. That's about it really.

Here is the current letterhead, which as you can see is not exactly great for brand recognition.

In my opinion, the color choices are hideous, and there is nothing that really speaks to anyone.

I thought this would appeal to people because I'm really giving free reign to design a logo without any restrictions.

    Thanks

    Justin

Thanks, I did read that post, and the only thing I have to offer is the website.

I have attached a current picture of the letterhead they are using

So basically this is everything they have. It's ugly, the colors aren't very good together, and it has no "brand" image to it.

I kind of like the abstract circle of people thing going on in this logo, maybe they could be holding hands and somehow making a net kind of like the old time ones used to catch people jumping out of a burning building? No clue how that would look or if it would be stupid.

Colors, I don't have any preference other than modern and fresh.

Like I said I before I'm looking for something clean, and fresh to use on all our promotional materials.

And to answer some questions, any printing costs will come out of the pockets of the board members simply because we believe in the mission of the organization. We don't have tons of money because we are working class people ourselves, hence why I have asked for help here.

Once we have a nice logo to present a complete package to foundations and get funding, well then we will be on a roll, but currently we are stuck with what meager funding for these things we can pull out of our own pockets.

Thanks for the further info Justin, it will help our graphics people now we know what direction you want the design to go in.

Keep checking back to see what we can come up with

Here's a start. Got the idea from a logo making program.
