    Hello:

We are in need of a fresh badge for our club soccer uniform. Colors are
green, black, white, with gold accent on white jersey and black jersey.

We like AC Milan oval and Chelsea badges. Attached are a couple
    ACM similar sketches.

While you indicate requests for new designs is currently closed, some new
work has been posted. I hope someone will have a chance to take a fresh
look at this as we need in 2-3 weeks.

    Thank you!

Here's a copy of the 1st one. Colours I've used are a guess. Can you be more specific about the colours? Maybe include the Hex # or HSL codes?

    A great start.

Overall, outstanding design with a few mods we'd like to see. No need to consider the round design sent yesterday. Let's focus on the oval.

    1) The bright green is perfect. We call this color Pantone PMS 375 2X and
we'd like to see this color carryover into the stripes.

    2) The ball prints to 20mm diameter. Can you increase to 30mm diameter and use a slightly thicker line?

    3) Change the color of the stars to a gold. I don't have a specific color number for you on that, but needs to work well with the green.

    4) Add 2 stars for a total of 5?

    5) EXT. 1978 is "wrapped" too tightly. Loosen up and center vertically between circle and oval.

    6) Gold background to CEDARBURG SOCCER CLUB. (same gold as stars)

    7) Also curious what it would look like with the background to the football
as black to allow the gold stars to jump out more. Going with a black
background may require a slightly different football.

    THANK YOU!

    Green Color Number

When I view your badge on my Apple monitor, it is very vibrant. However when I print, it is darker. Can you tell me what color this light (outside) green is? We think PMS 375 or 802 work. We are not that particular about the color, but do want it to stand out on the black jersey.

    One additional feature...

Instead of the nearly radial lines which create sharp corners before and after CEDARBURG & SOCCER CLUB, I think it may look better to round these corners to blend in with the oval. Radius at each point to follow the roundness of the C - G - S - B, then radius as it blends in with the oval. (I cut it out to test and it looks great!) Does this make sense? Thanks, Mark

Don't confuse me over print out colours. :)
Looking up 'pantone' related, the closest is a 361 C. In my language it's #03A703. The star colour is #FAD114.

So, further to the actual logo...
Look at these two (reduced sized) play rounds below.

Not sure about the design protocol around here, but I've seen really nice work by CovertPea and Osman. We're really close here and have the following thoughts to tweak above designs by CovertPea based on Design 3.

    A) Disregard "one additional feature" post above.

    B) Background to CEDARBURG and SOCCER CLUB back to white. As Design 1.

    C) Is #03A703 the right color for both white and black jersey? Or, could we
go just a touch lighter? Either works fine on white, but not sure if we
should go a touch lighter for use on black jersey.

    D) CEDARBURG SOCCER CLUB in Garamond. (MS Word Font)

    E) Should it be SOCCER CLUB or Soccer Club? Artists decision.

    F) sCs instead of cSc. (Garamond or basic as original? Artists decision.)

    G) "Pointer" more acute angle stars? Slightly darker (gold) stars?

    H) 1 or 2 vertical white strips look in the "stripe field"? Artists decision.

Thanks in advance for any updated designs.

    no. 2 is cool

    - what does sCs stand for?? somebody can't spell...

anyway, it just needs to be a little more glamourous, e.g.:

Osman. Yes, I like #2 also, but some colleagues think it's too close to
the Green Bay Packers color schem. FYI, the Packers play a "different brand of football", far inferior to the "real game". :D Would love you to take a crack at this design if it wouldn't be too much trouble. Thanks, Mark

    Typo, should have read sCc.
Cedarburg central, flanked by s and c for soccer club.
I struggle with what is correct here...
Perhaps it should remain CSC with letters the same height instead of the center letter S being larger.

yeah leave it as CSC its better. with the amount of football teams and "american football" teams in the world its bound to be the same colour scheme as some other team so don't worry about that, so long as those are your colours. its 4:41 am so i'm kinda tired, might have a crack at it another day, maybe tomorrow :p

    Was this a typo?
I've made the other changes. Although directions for H. (vert. stripes) wasn't clear to me so I just changed it to green and white. I think it looks 'cleaner'.
    Green is now #01B200.

Okay, just noticed the 2 posts above my last posting.

    Osman-
:rolleyes:I hope you don't mind me pointing out a designing issue...
'Glamorous' is fine for web sites and the like. Bevels, gradients and shadows can always brighten up any logo but try getting your local embroiderer to make up those glamorous type team patches and your trouble really begins.
This is the reason most (if not all) the footy logos I do on here are a combination of no more than four basic, flat colours.

    Cheers

Our "badge" will not be embroidered this upcoming year but a color transfer instead. Thus, while Osman's update is very cool, the additional features (shadows, etc.) wouldn not be suitable for a color transfer. Sorry, I should have indicated that from the beginning. We are limiting our colors to (1 - 2 greens), black, white, gold. Post #7 sums up where I believe we want to go with our update. Thank you, Mark

    OK, we're almost there!

    Final request:

    VERSION 5
Version 4 but CEDARBURG SOCCER CLUB white on black background.

    VERSION 6
Version 5 with the vertical white stripes in black.

    That should do it...

    Thanks for your patience CovertPea!

    Version 4 Enhancements

Sorry for continuing to change the rules. I messed around with the badge tonight and enhanced as follows:

    1) White stripes framed with black.
    2) Stronger black lines around stars.
    3) Stronger black lines inside ball.
    4) Extension of text box to oval.

I believe all of above are necessary and like the green/white/black stripe
    sequence.

yeah i know that, but when i wanted to give an example of something glamourous i tried to give the best idea. i just meant it was looking a bit dull.

i still dont agree with the green next to green and think the established date needs to be smaller.

Osman: While I don't disagree with some of your comments, as CovertPea pointed out your first design was more placque-like than badge-like. I agree it needs some details, however with embroidery (or transfers/screen printing) flat colors are the only
way to go. If you look at #4 above (original, not my printed attachment) the neon green does work against itself. I do agree that the EST. 1978 is too large, but our local soccer shop could resize. (not graphic artists, but will manipulate ps files) I like your POST #19 design and will check with colleagues on their thoughts. Thanks for working on this! I think it's a strong contender, but would do the following. A) Same green as CovertPea used. B) Evenly spaced green/white striping only with black "framing". (no gold stripe) C) Black outline to text. D) Gold stars from POST #18. All that said, I think we're more comfortable with the basic shape of the previous work since it will be placed on players of all sizes. (8 - 20 years old) For this reason, we think the oval shape is more appropriate. Thus, while I mentioned enhancements to this design above please don't put more time into it until I have feedback from colleagues. Thanks to CovertPea and Osman for their commitment to us non-artists. I for one will be donating the Osman's cause. CovertPea, how can we show our gratitude for your work?
