Legacy Looking for Band Logo

Need a Band Logo

Hi, I'm in a cover band, and we're trying to get our web-presence of the ground. I'm looking for a multipurpose branding logo of the band's name that we'd be able to put on a banner, on a Bass Drum, on the website, on the facebook page etc.

The band's name is "Divided By Zero", we play a variety of 90s alternative rock covers. Weezer, Nirvana, Green Day, Black Crows, Gin Blossoms, Goo Goo Dolls, etc.

I have a copy of gimp and can probably massage something to suit my sizing/shape needs as necessary, but from a creativity aspect, I'm a musician, but excelled at failing in art all through school.

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Whatever upgrades/alterations I make I'll share with the forum. Don't worry about following the colorscheme in the site above, I can alter it to work with the logo. I'm leaning towards a gray/black/darker background but haven't thought about the foreground colors for the site.

The website is under construction... nothing on-line yet.

Minus the "Sponsored By" of course... Basic, multi-purpose, goes with a variety of color schemes.

I think in general I'm looking for something that is flexible and usable in a variety of ways, that's almost more important to me than how it looks.

4) Requested size of your logo:
Since I have gimp, I guess as large as possible, so that I have the resolution to play with (I can always make it smaller).


5) Do you have any images/photos that can be used for the logo? (must be copyright free)

6) Any colors you prefer?
gray/white/black, etc....
red or blue

Just an idea ...

 

cool.... is there a way to layer it in such a way that it looks more like a unified image? Maybe it will be to tough to read that way...

 

Do you mean give the triangle and the circular image the same texture?

 

Not really I was thinking more along the lines of the words "Divided By Zero" being separate from the triangle/circle. I just wondering if you had thoughts on bringing them together and layering them... I'm just wondering if it will make the image seem more unified. (though it may be harder to read then and possibly cluttered...) I don't know... I'm SO not an artist, your already lightyears farther than I would have gotten.

hilljroberts - Do you need them in any paticular format? Right now they are PNG's.

 

PNG is fine..... I can translate it with gimp or whatever else to get it into jpeg form.

Any chance I can get it in a psd format so that I can try understand better how you build something like that? (I totally understand if you say no).

Also, the larger the better as we may want to put this on a banner or drum head.

Think that would only work if it's created in Illustrator...

PNG or GIF could be fine in this case as I don''t think it will go as big as a banner.
