Legacy Looking for a logo!

Hello everyone. I've just found this site and it seems to be an incredible source of information and helpful people. I am a normal forum-goer on several other forums and will certainly add this one to my list!

Well, enough rambling. I suppose I shall get down to the meat and potatoes of this thread

1) What is the exact name you would like in your logo?
LNG Laserworks

2) What is your website address (ex: http:/site .com/; Site Name)?
lnglaserworks.com, although it is not finished as you can clearly see. Also, the colors change and ultimately I'm just looking for a flat white logo, simple and recognizable.

3) Description of your website or business:
We are a very small, family owned and operated awards and recognition shop.

4) Have you found any logos/designs on the web that you feel convey the style you are looking for?

I designed it myself. I like the simplicity, but we've since changed our focus on what we're willing to do with the company, and with that we've begun to change our company name and image.

5) Requested size of your logo:
I would love to have a vectored or vectorable image, so the bigger the better.


6) Do you have any images/photos that can be used for the logo? (must be copyright free)
I would like to have no photos or images, simple text and vector shapes only.

7) What logo styles do you like (text only, image only, text and image, etc.)?
As was said earlier, text only with minor vector images is what we're looking for, something similar to our last logo (but not the same)

8) What colors do you want to see in your logo?
Just a single solid color, like white or black.

9) What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo?
N/A

10) Describe the target audience for your logo
School officials, coaches, corporate recognition, wide variety, mostly adults.

11) What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
We want the logo to show that we are a creative, strong and easy to work with company.

12) Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?
Mostly web, business cards, letterheads, engraved materials, possibly shirts.

13) Do you have other info or links you want to share?
I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE the way this logo looks:

Simple, intricate, elegant, strong, bold.....beautiful. I'm not saying that the logo MUST look like this, but it does show a bit of what I would like to see. Please don't use this link as a confining thing, I definitely want you to use your own creativity and vision!

14) Finally we need is there a style font you prefer, please let us know.

CovertPea, thank you for your help! I like the more curvey one, I like the intertwined look of the letters and I like that LASERWORKS is on the bottom, but I'm not sure on the font. Maybe less "heavy" ? Not sure how to explain really your help is much appreciated!

That is correct, we are moving away from awards and moving to more custom lasering and other more out-of-the-box tasks. Hence the name change......we don't want "AWARDS" in our name if that is only a very minute (and non-advertised) area that we cover.

We're probably going to keep the name AFE in legal terms and use it as an umbrella company, which hosts LNG. We are talking with our CPA and lawyer about what we need to do

I've run it by my co-workers (aka my dad and brother, heh) and they like the simplicity of Covert Pea's first design. I personally like the intricacy that you've demonstrated, very much, but they feel that the more simple the better
