Hey everybody! I'm new here! Word on the street is that this the best place to go when you want a logo done (in return for helping the community of course ;)).

    Well here are the specifics:

    1. It needs to be 500 x 500 pixels.
    2. The phrase "TDG" needs to be part of the logo.
    3. This is for a music blog if that helps y'all.
    4. This is going to be for Twitter, Facebook, and Last. fm accounts so the letters need to be visible.

    Thanks in advance!

    1) What is the exact name you would like in your logo?
    TDG

    2) What is your website address (ex: http:/site .com/; Site Name)?
This doesn't need to be included but The Daily Gyroscope

    3) Description of your website or business:
An indie music blog that covers all genres.

    4) Search the Internet for any logos/designs on the web that you feel convey
the style you are looking for?

Something sort of minimalist yet bold like this would be really good. I really like the black box with the white lettering on the bottom of the box with the image above.

    5) Requested size of your logo:
500 x 500 pixels and will only be used online.

    6) Do you have any images/photos that can be used for the logo? (must be copyright free)
    Nope. Sorry.

    7) What logo styles do you like (text only, image only, text and image, etc.)?
Text and image would be best. As for the image, whatever you think fits. If nothing comes to mind letters by itself is fine.

    8) What colors do you want to see in your logo?
Two colors only would be really cool (i.e. black and white, green and white, etc.)

    9) What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo?
    Pink, brown, purple.

    10) Describe the target audience for your logo
    Internet-savvy music fans.

    11) What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
To attract readers, to attract future employers, and to attract musicians.

    12) Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?
Twitter, Facebook, Last. fm, and Soundcloud pages.

    13) Do you have other info or links you want to share?
    Nope.

    14) Finally we need is there a style font you prefer, please let us know.
Anything legible and non-cursive would be great.

Something like this? The image behind the text is a pair of headphones since that's related to music.

I was thinking something more along the lines of my example image. Like a centered black empty box with about a 1/3 of that box being solid black with "TDG" in bold white lettering and a silhouette image (possibly the headphones you used) in the white space leftover. I don't know a lot about graphic design but I feel like it'd be pretty easy to achieve. I'm sorry if I didn't convey what I wanted clearly.

Sorry for sending you that personal message by the way. I did read the rules of conduct but I guess I was too overzealous.

I really appreciate the time you are investing in helping me out! :)

Here is a very crude idea of what I was thinking about. If you feel it would be wrong to do because it is kind of similar to the example, perhaps the letters could be put on the top? The image and the box should be the same shade...

Now that I look at it, I think the full name of my blog could be fit on the logo. If you include "The Daily Gyroscope" in the black area in the bold white letters I would really appreciate it.

Here is an image that I would like to be included in the white space of the box.

A friend of mine found the image on a copyright free image search so I'm pretty sure it's okay. If you don't want to use it for legal reasons I completely understand.

I can see a trademark/copyright symbol after the word tripod, which site did he find it on? Also the pic on "The Daily Gyroscope" who owns that?

Sorry for the questions but before designers do this kind of work we need to be sure all images used are copyright free

It seems like the image link expired. Here is the actual non-copyrighted image that I want used:

As for the headphones pic on the first crude logo, I found that through Google so I don't own the rights to that. I was simply using it to convey an idea of what I'd like.

The headphone where never a problem, as I'm sure most designers have a millon n 1 of them they could use.

Nice image, not sure you would need another set of headphones above it?
Maybe having TDG printed like a T-Shirt on the image would do?

Yeah, the image alone is fine. I don't need another pic over it.

If you'd like to contribute 1970Forest that'd be super cool. :)

It does look good. Can I see how it looks in 500 x 500? I'm a bit worried about the guy wearing the headphones' aura cutting into the D.
