Legacy Logo for Basketball Blog

I write a blog about University of Kentucky Basketball. I would really appreciate someone making a really professional looking logo that would fit in the title square at the top of my blog. Thanks in advance. I'll fill out the list of questions below:

2) Description of your website:

Covers UK basketball and UK basketball recruiting.

3) List 3 logo designs you really like & why:

http://www.pirweb.org/images/VROC_Logo_LowRes.jpg I like this logo because it would seem to fit the size requirements for my space exactly. I need more rectangular rather than square.

http://www.lancs.ac.uk/images/printLogo.gif Again, rectangular and I like the simplicity and professional look.

http://www.tr0ll.net/libsdl/logo/sdl_logo_hughe.png I like that this one has the rectangular shape but at the same time it has a "roundness" to it as well.


4) Requested size of your logo:

If you look at the top of my blog, either the size of the title rectangle right now, or just a little bit bigger. Not much bigger though because I don't want it to be the only thing that is seen when someone gets on my site.
5) Do you have any images/photos that can be used for the logo? (must be copyright free)

I don't. Sorry.

6) Any colors you prefer?

Just to match the colors of the blog somewhat. White, blue, "basketball" orange, black.

Yeah, that looks great, thanks a ton. I can't wait to get it on the blog. Can you do a variation where the basketball is orange is that hard to do? Also, can the letters for "State of the Program" be done in a format where they look like metal or that the letters are made of metal, keeping the basketball blue?

I hope I'm not asking a lot. Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love the logo and it is going up asap, I was just wondering what other looks would look like.
