Hi guys! It's so awesome websites like these still exist where people just like to help eachother out. I like that mindset.

I'm asking for your help concerning a logo/banner. Look below:

    1) What is the exact name you would like in your logo?
Jesse's Jazz Club. Positioning: for the logo I would like to have the words under eachother. For the banner the way you would read it: left to right.

    2) What is your website address (ex: http:/site .com/; Site Name)?
    Website is under construction (flash).

    3) Description of your website or business:
This is a jazz formation surrounding me (my name is Jesse), hitting clubs, weddings, parties etc. I'm the singer of the formation!

    4) Have you found any logos/designs on the web that you feel convey
the style you are looking for?

I really like the style of this logo. Two words in this happen to match with my name ;) I especially like the black-white and the cleanness, coolness and simpleness.

    5) Requested size of your logo:
I don't really know. First I'll be using it for the website, but I can imagine using it for business cards in the future and also on posters.
I would like the logo to be square. The banner would ofcourse be much wider than high because there are many letters.

    6) Do you have any images/photos that can be used for the logo? (must be copyright free)
    N/A

    7) What logo styles do you like (text only, image only, text and image, etc.)?
This will help the designers know what type of logo styles you are into and will create your logo accordingly.

Text Only and Text and Image. Read above. I could imagine having some graphics in there (maybe a microphone?) but I'm not really sure if that'd be cool...

    8) What colors do you want to see in your logo?
Preferably black/white or black-and-transparant or white-and-transparant. This is also handy because you would be able to put it on almost any colour background.

    9) What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo?
    The ones not stated above.

    10) Describe the target audience for your logo
Higher educated people with a sense of style.

    11) What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
Professionalism, 'coolness' (term in jazz) and trust.

    12) Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?
    See 5

    13) Do you have other info or links you want to share?
    -

    14) Finally we need is there a style font you prefer, please let us know.
    -

Surprise me! Let me know if anything's unclear :)

    - Jesse

Hi ishkey, thank you for your reply. Curious what you come up with :)

If we're talking about association, this, for example, comes to mind: Click

Referring to answer #10 above, I considered myself a bit educated with somewhat a sense of style so here is what I have come up with.
The first one though the layout is similar to the example is different enough with the retro style font from clubs of days gone bye, plus I added layers to achieve some depth and concentrate your focus on the words.

The second one I tried for a more modern approach using the microphone to extrude the word Jazz with a taper as if music coming out. Added in a bit of dimension and a altered font to project the whimsical yet classiness of Jazz Music. While adding more highlight, keeping the lettering uniform on Jessie's and Club in-order that the words would stick in the patrons head. After all we know of Jazz but we want them to remember your style of play.

If ether is to your liking let me know and I'll remove the watermark and put a few sizes in a png format zipped up for you.

Luv the 1st 1 Mr Ish

Just 1 small point, the black border arouond the right hand side e.g the S the shadowing does not follow the shape, but other than that GREAT WORK !!!!

your absolutely correct as I added a black square to the very back layer to obscure some holes that were peeping in. now I'm going to have to fix it. uh it's also by the Z and B.
Luv the 1st - ok what don't you like about the second?

Had a feeling you used a back layer, still nice work though.
2nd...still nice but the way the lettering is; looks like it should be coming out of a speaker not a microphone (if you see my thinking on it)

Now I've given it a shot....slightly different but gives options

I like the Sax Idea - not to mention the Sax. Should give MrFunk something to think about.

Hee guys, thanks a lot for these. Some great graphics here!

Give me some time to get used to them and consult some other people ('clueless' ones). You guys are giving me a hard time :p

    I'll get back to you!

    Hi again guys! :)

I discussed with some people and thought about all the ideas.

@1970. I actually like the logo, but it's not the right fit for me. Although a saxophone is THE symbol of jazz, I don't want people to give the impression it's all about a saxophone or that I'm playing the saxophone. Sometimes (or most of the times) a saxophone won't even be present. Thanks a lot for taking the time!!

@ishkey. I like both logos. The idea with the microphone I like the most, but for me it looks a bit to "childish" and naïve. Is there any possibility you could alter the fonts (maybe less round and more angular) so it looks more the opposite.

I hope you get what I mean. English is not my first language and when it comes to taste it is sometimes hard to find the words.

Eventually I could end up choosing the retro 30s style logo anyway. If I'm too demanding, just let me know. I would totally understand that.

    Thanks again, guys!

Sorry Jesse I just do not have any free time to make alterations, as I am working on 4 other projects. The two I posted took a good bit of time to create. If you want one of them as is, I'll be happy to remove the watermark.

I apologize for pushing it Ishkey.

Could you send me the 1st one (retro style)? :)

Not pushing it, I just have others who pay my bills and that takes precedent over everything else, just like you creating music for a living.
Here is the zip file with 2 png format files large/small, so you can use them on any color website. Let me know when you have it so it can be removed.

    I understand :)

I saved them so you can remove the file.

    Thanks again :)
