PHP How to make a membership access only page

    Greetings,

    I currently have a website up and running and I was trying to set up a membership access only page. I have created the username and password boxes and the enter button on my template. My web host has both mysql and php built in. Where do I go from here? I read something about creating a form. Thank you for all your help.
