Hi, it has ben really intersting reading through the forum and seeing the creativity here.

i am sending to you from down under (nz) and hoping you can possibly help us with coming up with a logo.

we are a couple who have been in the position of having to deal with temp agencies and really can't believe the chargeout rates they get from business compared to the raste they pay the workers.

we want to do somethign about it, so we are planning to set up a staff agency where the workers and companies both get a fairer deal.

we have a name and i am building a basic website to get us going, but we want to make an identity which can carry over when things get going better :)

    1) What is your website address (ex: http://site.com ; Site Name)?
    tempworks.co.nz

    2) Description of your website:
we are wanting to start an affordable temp agency to help people get work and companies be able to afford to take people on

    3) List 3 logo designs you really like & why:
not too sure, but the would either be casual corporate or grunge which i think seems to be the way many multinationals are heading these days. we don't want it to appear too bland and want it something that people can comfortably relate to, whether they are office workers or labourers

some logos for agencies seem to concentrate too much on people graphics, so that is somthing we would like to avoid

    4) Requested size of your logo:
we plan to make use of the logo everywhere as we want it to become recognizable for people. this would include website, letterheads, business cards and ads once we can afford some

    5) Do you have any images/photos that can be used for the logo? (must be copyright free)
i don't have any images. i tried to create something myself as a placeholder, but it looks absolutely terible and nothing at all like something that would be good to use as an identity.

    6) Any colors you prefer?
colours are completely open and the main thing would be that the logo looks good either in colour (as on website and business cards) or b/w if this is used on letterhead or forms

You are probably wondering about the logo i tried

the idea was supposed to be a stylized tw at the bottom and as our possible tagline is "supporting your business" i used the tw to support the top of the logo. the 3 semi circles were because of the search, recruit, place elements of the business and also they rsemble both wireless and rss which was taking into account that these are fast, reliable and modern methods of communication everywhere. lame i know, but my small effort and obviously didn't work out well, but the thought was there.
we are now thinking that simpler is most probably much, much, much better

Hey post up the image that you created. Would love to see that whether it's good or not it would give us a good idea on what you are after. Don't be shy about what you can do I probably can't do half the things you can do so don't worry :)

Honestly from my opinion I don't think your site really needs a new logo. It's good enough, looks really professional along with the site layout too.

    Thanks for those kind words!

Really appreciate the feedback. I guess it's one of those things where it's difficult to be satisfied with own efforts. The logo I came up with was actually only made in a matter of minutes after I had the general idea outlined and then I just kind of added to it and tweeked it a little. It is also white because I couldn't come up with a colour scheme

Here is the new ANZ logo which I think is great...

I love the simplicity of the design and the visual identity created compared to the older text version they had. Ideally I would like to have something along the same lines i.e simple and easy to replicate, but also has some visual aspects to draw attention. I don't think it neccessarily has to be strictly business based as it is mainly a visual drawcard. If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.
