    Hi Guy's and Gal's,

I have been working on a football badge for the past couple of weeks but cant seem to get a good final look and would love some help?

I have really only changed the colours, text etc but I cant seem to finish the badge off with a solid orange outline (Just slightly bigger than the badge as it will be placed onto black tops).

Could anyone please help me with this? and if at all possible could you try and make it a little more accurate with regards to the outline on the badge just now?

    Thanks again

    Hi 1970Forrest,

The badge itself belongs to a welsh premier league team and is a new badge, I have been looking into it to see if there are any copyright laws regarding the badge which I imagine there will be with them being a pro team. I have changed certain things with the badge and dont know if i will be ok to use this. Any more advise would be welcome.

I have attached the badge in its original state also.

    Thanks again

I'm using Photoshop CS5.1 but the trial expires next week, I also have Gimp and Paint.Net

I will be looking to buy photoshop as soon as I have the cash :)

Daniel Airlie one way you could have solved your problem would be to have duplicated the shield, enlarged it and placed it behind the first one as show in (#1) below. Problem then becomes as shown - it doesn't enlarge the way you want.
By learning about the Pen Tool and Paths you then can have control points (#2) below, which allow you to adjust the shield to fit, just as 1970Forest posted.
The Pen Tool has been around forever - has a strange name - but worth mastering as it is one of the most used tools. Whichever program you use give it a try.

    Hi Ishkey,

Yeah that's what I tried (copy and enlarge outline which resulted in #1 that you posted) I'm getting a little better each time with the pen tool, I've only used photoshop a few times now but getting better, slowly but getter there lol.

Can you add anchor points to shapes? If I used the circle tool could I then switch to the pen tool and add anchors?

Thanks for all the help :)

Thought I'd post the badge now that it's complete, let's hope the rest of the team like it :)

Thanks again for the help with the outline

You sure can. Shapes are vectors, not raster type files.
Use Add Anchor Point Tool in the Pen Tool
