    Hi all,

I would like to introduce myself first. My name is Karl and I am from Malta. I have been photographing various events for these past 3 years, and since people are liking my photos, I would like to make some money out of it. I think that the first step would be that of having a logo and later on some business cards.

I sincerely thank anyone who helps in designing a logo for me in advance. Its much appreciated and I am thankful as such.

    Hopefully the info below suffices.

So here goes my request attempt at a logo as per the rules:

    1) What is the exact name you would like in your logo?
    Karl Vella Photography

    2) What is your website address (ex: http:/site .com/; Site Name)?
Dont have one right now. I put my photos on facebook. Hopefully next year will have some time to create one.

    3) Description of your website or business:
I photograph a variety of things. My main focus though is weddings, events, parties, and portraits.

    4) Search the Internet for any logos/designs on the web that you feel convey the style you are looking for?

    5) Requested size of your logo:
The logo will be used on the website in the headers, intro pages and various other places when I make a website. It will also will be used for business cards, flyers and other print material (nothing huge though). The MOST use for this logo will be as a logo/watermark in my actual images.

    6) Do you have any images/photos that can be used for the logo? (must be copyright free)
No graphics. I just want a simple logo.

    7) What logo styles do you like (text only, image only, text and image, etc.)?
    Text only

    8) What colors do you want to see in your logo?
Black, white, and grey, maybe with a touch of red/yellow.

    9) What colors do you NOT want to see in your logo?
    Pink, orange, purple, green

    10) Describe the target audience for your logo
    Target audience: 15 - 35 age group.

    11) What are the top 3 things you would like to communicate through your logo?
    a) a logo that clearly shows who's work you are looking at
    b) funny touch
    c) young and modern

    12) Where will your logo be used (print, website, etc.)?
Business cards, prints, flyers and other promotional materials, website, watermark/logo in images

    13) Do you have other info or links you want to share?
Being able to get a logo in different background color and text combinations would just be fantastic.

    14) Finally we need is there a style font you prefer, please let us know.
I basically am looking for a combination of "signature" style font combined with a "block" letters font in the logo

Hopefully the above will suffice... can't wait to see any suggestions :)

    Once again... A BIG THANKS!!

    Karl

Pretty! One thought: while you requested something with red, might want to consider another color. If you intend to watermark the final photos that you provide to clients, might want to consider a different color. With red being a bright primary color, it might draw a person's attention to your logo first, rather than the actual photo.

Thanks GG for the logo... is it possible to use a different font for my name... Was thinking of something more cursive. Also as Household1974 said the red font draws too much attention... I was thinking of a more subtle inclusion of red...maybe just a small horizontal line between my name and "photography"

Hope I made myself clear :)

Ahh no worries good point there Household

@karlvell so you'd want your name font changed and the colour to black? and then add a red line in between your name and photography?

Also got a question for you both if you don't mind..

The images that you take for your clients what edits do you make to them before you release it? For example, if you did a photo shoot for someone, is there any specific edits you'll make to the image or do you do it to the clients request?

GG... Thanks for your quick reply. yes, I think I prefer the name to be in black.

Re the edits... It depends on the client but I tend to do several edits of the same image

Brilliant. I'll send it to you without the watermark in the e-mail that you used to sign up to the forum.

    Thanks :)

Ahhh yes. Liked the 1st one, but definitely the 2nd better.
As for edits, I really don't make very many - I'd likely make more if I knew how to operate PhotoShop! Lol! That being said, the edit I use the most is color temperature. I use this to make skin tones a bit nicer - folks look a little more tan.
