    Hi There,

We have just secured a sponsor to pay for our kit but they do not have a suitable jpeg or similar of their logo for us to add to our website or send to the printers.

Their logo is quite fancy with its copper effect, what I'm after is the same overall logo but in basic 'flat' colours with out the fancy 3-D effects.

Any help whatsoever would be much appreciated.

    1) What is your website address (ex: http://site.com ; Site Name)?
    Our club site is www.saltneytownfc.co.uk.
Our sponsors site is City Metals UK - Welcome to City Metals Website

    4) Requested size of your logo:
The logo will be used on our website as well as printed in large on the front of our shirts.

    5) Do you have any images/photos that can be used for the logo? (must be copyright free)

    6) Any colors you prefer?
Red on white background and white on black background.

    Brilliant

    Thanks, that looks great.

Would it be possible to get it in red and in high resolution jpeg for the printers?

    Thank you so much

    OK...? Theyre perfect!

    Hi Forest,

These are perfect, just what we are after.
Will they be ok to be blown up large to go across the front of our kit?

you will need a different format, vector, psd, which I did not do,

Cynthia did you save yours as any of these?

Forest just open the file in illustrator (CS5 will allow you to open .psd files in illustrator) and then just save it as a .PDF which is what format the printers might ask for so then that will automatically be in vector format.

I've never done that but the other way is to drag the graphic in Illustrator and then colour trace it and it should be fine like that.

Forest, I only have mine as .png files, which is what we were given...

And GG is correct; if you have Illustrator (which I still don't...), then it should be alright...?

You'll want to know dimensions though..?

    lol

That's actually come out a little wrong because when you zoom in it is still blury..any chance uploading the original .psd file? so then i'll be able to see if what i've said actually happens I don't opening it in Illustrator has worked...

Right, i've got it....Open the file in Photoshop and the layer it locked in my version so jts double click the layer and click ok...this will unlock the layer then drag the image into illustrator (when you open it up).

Once the image is in illustrator then select it using the black arrown on the left tools menu then at the top there should be an option that says 'Live Trace' click on it then you'll notice a slight change in the image...

Now once you click on the 'Live Trace' button within that bar there should be something that says 'Treshold' with a number next to it, simple type in 103 on that number then there you have it.

Just crop the document down to the size of the image and save as a .ai (for yourself) and a .pdf. Open the PDF file and zoom and check whether it looses any quality, if not then you're all good :D

NOTE: Forgot to mention you might have to put a black box above the text that you 'trace' and then select times new roman and type out the business name so then it doesn't come out all weird.

    Example:
The bottom is not vector and the top is vector..

well there's a certainway to get it which is going around the designers and only the designers and it has helped. I'll send you a PM later in hour or two as for now I need to go out but once i'm back i'll send you the details to get it or any of the members can too.
